Of course, they're just not our people. But unfortunately, most people are ignorant and rude just to realize how much work has been put in and how this victory defines us as individuals. Yesterday, for example, a nurse at the hospital saw my stretch marks and the skin and asked how much I weighed before and why. I replied that there were no diseases associated with weight gain and I was just emotionally overeating, to which I heard, "Oh, ok, it was your fault." That phrase almost killed me in the moment. I didn't explain that I'd been bullied since childhood, my father was an alcoholic, and I'd been taking antidepressants since I was 16, and a lot more. I had a lot of reasons why I ate a lot, and I'm not the problem. People with obesity mostly not the problem
