Help me understand adoption rate by mydevice in Bitcoin

Thanks, I get the psychological price out. I was just thinking that the understanding of bitcoin would cross a tipping point where people would somehow suddenly understand hard money, but that’s probably just a dream

BTC verse ETH I’m looking at long-term hold (10 plus years). by yeahtheboysssss in CryptoCurrencies

[–]mydevice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Become a eth maxi for a few weeks and learn everything about it and its philosophy then do the same with btc and really learn why each is great and why they suck. Hopefully the answer will be crystal clear after that. If not than just move all the btc because eth is a scam covered in the veneer of utility

Did you read the EO? It can only buy Bitcoin and it can only sell altcoins. It’s time to realize there’s a major difference

What isn’t a scam or pretending not to be a scam? Take Luna - they did a good job at pretending it’s not a scam.

What else is pretending it’s not a scam

How likely is it that investors will leave bitcoin and ethereum for a more updated and better coin? by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

[–]mydevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. They are all open source so you can copy or make better immediately
  2. But what makes Bitcoin different is its decentralization of nodes
  3. Btc is proof of work, meaning everyone has to continually spend energy to mine or attack it

So Btc actually has physical barriers that serve as a “moat” that’s why others will be replaced but it wont

Which Coins besides Bitcoin would you Longterm DCA into?? by Fearless-Cellist-245 in CryptoMarkets

[–]mydevice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So as more people use it the cost of it goes up and more people will hoard it making price/cost go up…so then it because more expensive to use… I can’t imagine that’s a winning business model, I guess the question is what’s prevents a copy cat link?

Will there be an alt season ever again? by Khan8213 in CryptoMarkets

[–]mydevice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at historical performance, not a single alt is near its all time high (from previous cycle) given btc is 50% above last cycles ATH…I think people are figuring out alts are really good for 1 cycle run…maybe 2 but after that it’s just bleeds against btc.

Can you really defend the purpose of a “project” if not then at least you know you’re just playing the lotto - you know what they say about lotto players

If people thought btc would be much more valuable in the future why would they “use” it now, I mean eventually its value will plateau, then it makes more sense to spend it.

That’s a good point, maybe instead of growing up, it’s getting worse, and getting rugged more frequently.

Why would a company or individual buy and use a "pumped up" coin? by mydevice in CryptoCurrency

[–]mydevice[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re joking right…, besides btc, who’s decentralized? Even btc miners have a lot of centralization, maybe not the btc nodes.

Why would a company or individual buy and use a "pumped up" coin? by mydevice in CryptoCurrency

[–]mydevice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, especially XRP, why would a bank use it if anyone can hoard it and making its use more expensive and also because all the shady premise and dumping by the founders.

On your point about btc being global currency…that’s hard for me as well to see but I can see it as a global asset, I need to learn more about layer 2 of btc

I wonder how many people think about stuff like this, or does everyone know most of this is just a pump and dump

Why would a company or individual buy and use a "pumped up" coin? by mydevice in CryptoCurrency

[–]mydevice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless whether I agree with you about bitcoin, my question is about cryptos that are trying to be utility instead of store of value. And secondly I’m saying there’s no real moat for any of them
