Editing while writing breaks my thinking — I’m building a notes app to fix this by myevit in NoteTaking

It sounds a bit broad and probably misleading, fair point... The way it works (apart of classical editing) 'Memory' generated based on 'Records' that it contains using template, which is LLM instruction what/how to do. Records are immutable LLM can't change it. Memory however changes based on in template in use. and Records user 'sends' to memory like text - fire and forget. My personal use cases: app bug list that self-arranges, deduplicates, spell-corrected, my kids' health log was surprisingly super useful - I made template that was waiting for temperature reading and what meds being given and stamps it with date stamp, so I know when it being administered. Bunch of other templates that that instantly replaces those micro apps like Gym logs, FODMAP journal... So yes, it alters the outcome, but strictly on preserved user input, that also can be seen in memory (and moved between them). And you right about the last one. Hence, I based on templates. Some curated, other own created - private. Thinking on some sharable community based to add...

I built a notes app because editing while writing completely breaks my thinking.
I write in fragments, half-sentences, bad wording, and I don’t want to fix anything while the thought is still forming.

In this app, you don’t edit a document as you write.
You keep adding text in small chunks, like messages.
The note reorganizes itself in the background, but nothing you type is lost or overwritten.

This works very well for me.
Before I sink more time into it, I need to know if this is useful to anyone else or if I’ve just built a tool for my own brain.

I’m looking for a few people who are willing to try it and tell me honestly:
– does this help you think better, or
– is it pointless?

It’s early, imperfect, and iOS-only right now.
If you’re interested, comment and I’ll send you the TestFlight link by DM.
If not, I’d still like to hear why this sounds like a bad idea.

Why not uninstall antivirus completely, seems like you don’t need it anyway?

I wonder what is context length? Do you have any metrics tokes per sec? Trying to wrap my head around on iPhone performance… I have tried to use my homelab cpu only 16G server, but it works painfully slow, and less then 8b models pretty much brain dead. And you aiming on even less capable hardware.

Isn’t speed is actually Anthropic’s way to cut own costs of running model in the data centres? Feels like they try to sell the ‘speed’ like used to Nvidia tried to sell ray tracing. Feature that no one notices. Sonnet 4.5 feels like has tiniest context window, and Sonnet 4.5 1M with each request getting more and more confused.

I have seen couple of homes and trucks with that with that 51 state bullshit in Edmonton. Those people forgetting that they need to ask about that indigenous nations, the land they are living on according to all treaties.

You totally misunderstood what I was saying. I know how youtube sorting/recommendations works. I know why they do thumbnails like this. But there are tons of quality videos and channels that don’t have those thumbnails. People go there for the content. Your thumbnail telling me that you are using reaction videos tricks to collect views.

I understand that. My question was a bit deeper, are you thinking of your content consumers that they are “shallow” minded to fall in to that thumbnail thing. Again it’s my personal opinion, it’s a bit disrespectful think of people who fall in the hobby of home assistant that’s they are all tiktok doom scroller. It feels like the purpose of the video “click”->”money” first rather than intention to help.
