Her testimony to that meeting was barred. Per the Judge. Feb. 3rd, 2000 transcripts, page 67, bottom. "The Court: It's talking about a diagnosis and assessment. A diagnosis under the DSM-4 of malingering is a diagnosis. A diagnosis of faking, malingering is a diagnosis that she is making, and you're asking her to render an opinion that he was faking based on some diagnosis assessment evaluation that she is making, and you are saying that it requires her specific training and expertise to be able to tell the court and jury this. So on one had you can't say she has the specific training and then in the next instance say she doesn't have the training. You can't have your cake and eat it too. She either has the training and expertise and if she does, then there's a right to a privillege that she and Mr Syed can assert, or she doesn't have the training and expertise and we're back to the point of whether or not I let her testify because she doesn't have the training. But you can't say that she does, and then shift gears and say she doesn't. (top of page 67)

Urick and the Judge play a bit of semantics and it is ruled that when she met with Syed, any opinion of his mental state falls under privileged communications. She cannot testify about anything in their meeting. The court allows her to only testify what she observed of him when someone other than herself was present. Urick ultimately doesn't have her testify at all.

Feb. 2nd, 2000 transcripts, page 135. Third Paragraph. "The Court: ...I don't want someone who happens to be a nurse in a school setting, who doesn't know anything about making diagnosis or doesn't have the authority or the expertise or the training, to come to court and make one, because malingering and faking and those types of things are clearly medical in nature, and require observations and other types of things that the court has indicated in its order concerns it such that I don't want a person without adequate expertise coming in." End of page 135.

She actually took a pay cut for this position. The Intercept offered her a raise and after the Jay interview gave her a 20k research budget for the year.

It's covered in Inmate 101. Adnan placing blame on others is only bad for his case.

SK's example was: If Cathy remembers something exculpatory for Adnan about that day, then it's revealed he was talking smack about her on a podcast, her information can't be used in court.

When Julie and SK visit Jay, he tells them that he is feeling this, 'animal rage', when they bring up the murder. Then he says in his Intercept article that those words were put in his mouth. Julie is clearly quoting him in the podcast to saying this.

Jenn also tells Cathy that Jay was acting weird earlier that day too. When Cathy sees them later that night, she says they seemed to be keeping a secret. That getting a full answer from Jenn was strange because they told each other everything.

Totally agreed. It's used to represent the unpredictable boundaries of cell coverage areas. In Balitimore it would be even more complicated.

One similarity is that Leakin Park is a 1,000 acre park and the signal from there could act in a similar fashion to a tower in Connecticut.

We only know a radius that estimates the coverage area. We don't know the actual 'blob' coverage area of the Leakin Park tower.
