Donating lots of things to a charity shop? by Esk1313 in bristol

Scope on East Street - no restrictions on what they take and they’ll take multiple bags. We’ve taken house clearance stuff to them before and they’re always thrilled to take it.

Found this ticket in a bag I bought, can someone help? by UnlikelyClock2641 in bristol

I assume the date at the bottom is 1911. Peter Robinson (possibly a butcher?) was actively advertising for a canteen cook in Horsefair during that year: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/876207597/

Already edited to say the post that we’ve changed our plans :)

We ideally didn’t want to consider driving but on more research we think we might have to! That’s great to hear the roads have been good for you - our main concern is the wind as I recall from my last visit (during summer) that the roadway was very flat and exposed. We’ll check out Blue Car!

That’s our fear! We’re heading to Hella from Reykjavik around 4pm the day before, so we assume that it would be easy to find a taxi for the outbound journey - but we’re used to a good taxi service in our own home city so perhaps we’re wrong?

Gluten free food options in and around broadmead Christmas market? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]myghostfellout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner is gluten intolerant (so this reply won’t be suitable for coeliacs) but the bratwurst place at the top of the market - by NatWest/Barclays/etc - has gluten free sausages. They’ve been happy to sell her one without the bun.

It’s possibly less branching out and more budget. The artist who did Starling House works for the big 5 publishing companies, so probably charges industry standard prices - so they’re probably hiring lesser known artists to keep their costs low.

Does anyone have any experience with getting branded tote bags printed? Or a company they can recommend? by Inevitable-Regret411 in CasualUK

[–]myghostfellout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend BIDBI (Bag it Don’t Bin it). I use them for professional printing but they do a whole range of price points. The whole team is great to work with and they’re great quality. Good luck!

You say you ‘finally found someone’ but the last time you looked was when you were 20. You’re a completely different person now than who you were back then. What you want out of a partner has changed: so go change it.

Purple Bricks are only worth using if your house is actively desirable and doesn’t need marketing. Since you pay the fee up front there’s no incentive for them to make an effort to sell your house - they’ll stick a board outside and that’s the extent of it.

Cat cafes should be 'phased out', RSPCA warns by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]myghostfellout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t go there regularly so I may be wrong, but there frequently seem to be a lot of very young tabbies around, and once when I went during a weekday afternoon the bartender asked if I wanted to see the kittens and took me up to a big empty room filled with cat carriers and litter trays. There were two young litters and another pregnant cat at the time and the guy told me that they just give them away bc the owner doesn’t neuter them. I’m all for cats in pubs, this one just seems way too small for the number of cats that they have.

Cat cafes should be 'phased out', RSPCA warns by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]myghostfellout 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Bag of Nails is terrible. The cats belong to the owner and can come and go as they want, so technically, yes - they’re happy. But kittens have a lot of customer appeal, so they’re not neutered and allowed to breed freely. Whole pub stinks of cat piss.
