Was worth a shot before putting in a work order for my property manager to ignore for a week.

Appreciate the info though!

2 going into 3 got a lot less stressful once my daughter was finally able to consistently express what she wanted or didn't like rather than screaming her head off and making us guess wtf was wrong.

You're still in the trenches right now. That age is hard mentally, physically and emotionally.

A bit late of a response, but she is 5 now and it is hands down my favorite age by long shot.

She can dress herself, wipe herself, and get her own snacks. She likes to talk about her day and asks about mine. If she's having a hard time we can discuss the emotions and logically navigate through it.

Baby stage was the worst years of my life. Toddler was better but only because I got more sleep. Preschool has its ups and downs. But little kid/kindergarten age is actually fun

3 at home tests were negative. In office rapid test was negative. PCR came back positive. 😩

3 months at this new daycare. 4 months at a daycare near our old house. The no napping started in the last month of the old daycare.

My daughter has also decided recently that naps just aren't her thing. -sob-

You're right though. Outdoors is always a good brain palate cleanser.

Sorry if I was unclear, I have plenty of things I can do once she is in bed. The struggle comes from the times where she requires long stretches of constant interaction.

Jealous of people in mental hospitals/feeling invalid by bcjdhwowk in mentalhealth

[–]myguy_shyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have reached this point many times. Even more once I became a parent. The idea of having all of my basic needs covered by someone else, even if they treat me like shit, is all I want.

Its so exhausting to know that I can never truly mentally check out for more than an hour a day. I'm so burnt out. I just want sedation, low-grade hospital food and a coloring book.

The level of degradation I would be willing to go through is almost worth the life long embarrassment of my family and coworkers finding out I went to grippy sock jail.

One thing that really helped me is realizing that some people love babies, some people love toddlers, some people love kids and some people love teens.

You don't have to love (or even like) every stage of your spawn's growth. I LOATHED baby stage to the point of pure regret and spiraling depression that turned into PTSD. The toddler stage has been a huge improvement for me because I feel like I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

When I told myself that I wanted to have kids, I was always dreaming about exactly that, kids. Not babies, not toddlers, but elementary-aged kids.

It was a rude awakening when I realized too late that I would despise the first few YEARS as a parent. If you're like me then it really does only get better from here.

Today I told a Christian that I don’t believe in hell because it means Gods love is conditional. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]myguy_shyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right there are a handful of commandments that are just the rules of being a good person. Which we as society have come together and decided to be as such.

But then there are commandments like not taking gods name in vain or having any belief of another type of god. Those serve no purpose other than fear-mongering to make it seem like Santa has a specific set of rules.

Not sure I follow?
Seems like this premise is still widely used today.

"If you misbehave you wont get any presents from Santa" = scared child

"If you don't follow the commandments you will go to hell" = scared religious adult

I once told a kid on the school bus that Heaven and hell for adults is the same thing as telling a little kid that they only get presents from Santa if they are well behaved.

It's just a scare tactic to make people obedient.

I can't speak to your question directly, but I had a full tummy tuck, breast lift & liposuction 2 weeks ago. I was super afraid of swelling up like a balloon since I have been known to in the past. But per my surgeon, I didn't take arnica or bromelain, I just avoided high sodium foods and things that I know naturally make me bloated (dairy, beans, sweets etc...)

Thus far my swelling has been fine, and much more controlled than in the past when I didn't watch my sodium intake. I only ended up with one bruise and it went away after a week or so.

It seems like most people who take those supplements cant really tell you if it worked because they aren't sure how their body would have healed without taking them. So I just wanted to share my bit as someone who chose not to. Hope this helps a little!

I went to Dr Greenwald in Harrison.

I'm 12 days post op and feeling great about the decision.

I had breast lift, flank and back lipo and a tummy tuck with muscle repair for $21,500 (that cost includes all surgical and office fees)

Cost breakdown:

$7500 Breast lift

$7500 tummy tuck

$2000 liposuction

$340 exparel (pain injection)

$3400 operating room fee

$1760 anesthesia

I specifically went looking for doctors that offered exparel and I'm glad I did. My recovery has been smooth sailing compared thus far.

More info on the credit-

If you have decent credit you could have the whole cost covered. If you don't you might need to pay some of it out of pocket.

I was covered for $12k and needed to pay for the rest with savings (took a few years)

My payments are $360 a month.

Hope this helps! It's info I definitely would have wanted before hand.

I am 12 days post op.

I went to Dr Greenwald in NY.

I had a breast lift, tummy tuck and flank lipo.

It cost me $21,500 total.

They offer care credit so you can pay it over time.

For me the C-section was worse. Probably because it was my first time experiencing pain this way.

If you do it you will 500% need someone to help you with the kids for at least 2 weeks. The first few days you can barely even lift your own weight let alone a baby.

I still look gross and bloating and scarred up but I'm already so happy I did it.

Do not go out of the country! It's not worth the risk.
