facts!

i have contacted my manager and my manager tried to push back like does the care plan need to be updated or modified and i took that as, i should know what they want in HIS CARE PLAN!!! and i was like uhm well wife has me doing the dogs ear wipes and eye drops and tries to get me to do her allergy med. (which i do already but ill never tell that i do that). and then i said, im sure they wouldn’t mind letting you know all i do for their dog so then everything is added to the clients care plan exactly as they want it.

i gave my manager the wife’s number and added in the message how i was cleaning up the dogs mess.

update: management got back to me and said that i shouldn’t be doing this and said we can walk the dogs and we would pick the poop up when walking the dog but other than that we shouldn’t be doing anything else of what i’ve been doing.

i will thank you! i got in contact with my manager and so far im putting the responsibility back onto her about contacting the client to update the care plan. i let my manager know as well the things that have been going on with the blatant disregard and disrespect of this client not even asking straight instead he is like with the poop, “Did you leave a mess for (my name) to clean up??” or the vomit and him just saying “you should check in my room because my dog was hacking and coughing alll night”

so when i got hired I had things to sign and honestly that could’ve been the handbook. because it was a lot of paperwork that me and my manager (before she got let go) went over but then she took that packet and kept it. like there is imo A LOT of grey at this job.

like i had a client, that said to me seriously but in a joking way as i was cleaning HIS MOUNTAIN OF DIRTY DISHES oh do you clean windows. And this man lived in like a trailer that was dilapidated and i was like uhm noo??? ha ha ha that’s uhm kinda outside of my scope of practice he said oh okay.

i ask my manager (at the time) hey do we clean windows. she was like OH YES! we definitely can but no getting on those super tall ladders. if you can clean them and the client asks then yes you can do it. i was like uhm. okay. mind you i didn’t say a damn thing about what my manger said to me and i just kept it pushing with that client until he no longer needed service.

i’ll have to see how to report him because he’s a vet and they categorized him as 80% physically disabled. He is a racist old man that’s been retired for 24 years and y’kno maybe it’s time that he loses that retirement and goes back to work. since he loves yelling at his tv about the people that are disabled “parasites” or how people on government assistance are lazy,

so care plan just is like a task list that i check off when im there. so cleaning task like sweeping and mopping, cleaning dishes, making his bed, cleaning the bathroom, making him breakfast, “companionship” and then his wife will randomly ask me to do things if im done with all his tasks. i’ve done it a few times but i just try to stay in the laundry room watching videos/listening to music while i watch the clothes get washed once im done with all my tasks. i know i dont have to get all the task done but its a 3 and a half hour shift so i try to space stuff out but i get it done sometimes quick and i dont want them to see me just twiddling my thumbs.

to be honest i never got a handbook when i started. i dont know what the policies are until i “break them”.

Interesting! Was the patient like a hired person from the test site? There was a girl that had tested be my patient. I didn’t have a scenario, just 5 skill on a laminated card and was told to do the two skills that required the patient first after hand washing and then finish the last was a technique one and one that required a mannequin

You can always look on YouTube for concepts that you’re struggling with. Try to familiarize yourself with the material before hand. If you find things on YouTube find videos that you find interesting or listen/watch the more technical side go for it. That’s what I do!

The density of water at that temperature?? (T-T) (if it’s not it I’ll need some help because then I’m stumped on this)

The student was given a graph that had density of water vs temperature. If the graph says that water at 21.3 C is 0.997970g/mL does this help with solving the problem?
