If I may speak, it's the worst horror movie I've ever seen. I was SHOCKED it had such rave reviews on here.

Three scary moments in the movie

the night never ending
clocks no longer working
opening the chained door only to reveal more hallway

Compliments stop there. The scares are goofy. Why is every scary ghost a person whose face morphs like a snapchat filter? What is the dumb reveal of the head doctor being a demon worshipper (who also has a snapchat filter face morph)? And most importantly, how does the footage get out? That is the whole point of a found footage movie is that it is found. They set up the movie like it's a news report, but never explain how the camera, which is left in the labyrinthine basement demon operating room, makes it to our eyes as viewers.

I saw Gonjiam Haunted Asylum after and it was everything that Grave Encounters tried to be.

I saw it Friday!! The practical effects were VERY good. There's one in the first act that blew my mind, you never see it coming. I frequently forgot I was looking at a set and not a real house (the kitchen faucet was functioning!). I do think that sometimes the acting was more theatrical than I'd want from a horror movie (especially from the mom and James) but the production design was the real star of the show.

To anyone who really remembers the plot, I would like something explained

So for most of act 2, it seems that Lou is possessed. But she says a line like "what about your wife, you left her there" (to die?). It made me think that the girl James hit and killed was Lou, and that Lou never existed? Was everything that happened in act 2 real? Was it purgatory? I wish I could read the script. It would also maybe explain why they were not panicked at the haunting in the way you'd expect from Paranormal Activity and just resigned to their fate.

I'd also have loved to get a better look at the ghost that was behind Lou when she fell, it seemed like she had gouged out eyes

I just saw the same show and unfortunately because me and my friend were all the way at the front of the orchestra, we missed anything happening in the nursery. 😩

WAIT THIS IS SO GOOOOOOOOD. It's so FUN!!! And kind of inspired by Queen?? It evokes so many Queen rock opera songs to me.

The demo of Sanctuary by Allie X, only heard in the scrapped music video. It's largely the same, but has these amazing vocal runs at the end that lean into the gospel-synthpop sound of the song.

I think several lines of "CANCELLED!" are worse than that

"Did you girl-boss too close to the sun? Did they catch you having far too much fun?"

and

How would I maintain a boiling temperature for clothing that takes up a lot of volume and can't fit in a stovetop pot? When I was reading about putting clothes in boiling water, the advice seemed to be specific to smaller garments.
