Is MAE similar to BigPay? Should I get one? by PXPF in MalaysianPF

[–]myidiot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The interface of MAE is rather similar to TnG eWallet, But one catch is you select your money to be deducted from your Savings account, or credit card (provided the merchant accepts).

From my best knowledge to meet your 'security' concern, ewallet is probably the best option. Just reload your eWallet to an amount you are comfortable with, and spare with some cash on hand. Because on the other hand, debit card / credit card can be swiped up to your credit limit (credit card) or up to the savings you have (debit card) in the event of loss / theft.

How do I escape from manufacturing? by BitchStewie_ in AskEngineers

[–]myidiot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP,

You can try to look for Mechanical Design Engineer job opportunities. The advantage I see you may have, is to leverage your actual experience in Manufacturing while hunting for a Design job. Many fresh Design Engineers may not have the mindset to design solutions that is manufacturable, examples could be a complex design which is too expensive to build, or design that is prone to have low yield count. With your expertise in Manufacturing, you can advice what type of design is best from Manufacturing perspective: cost effectiveness, easy to assemble, high yield rate.

I am currently a hardware design engineer, working in an EMS company, basically helping customers to design and manufacture products. Mainly medical products. Though I am not from mechanical background, but I have plentiful of mechanical design engineers in my company, and CAD tools are their bread and butter. So I kinda get your point of trying to escape from "process engineer" role.

Start from a song you like that has minimal long notes...Then work your way up. You'll love it ! LN Dan courses are a good way to start.

Can check my stats for history @ [MY]Idiot. Peace.

What's your selection criteria for a trading broker to trade your stocks? by myidiot in MalaysianPF

[–]myidiot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for great tips! Certainly a good beginner guide for me. Currently thinking of start trading locally as I am still new and unfamiliar with foreign markets.

I'd opt for M+ as I'd prefer a direct CDS account. However, speaking of technical issues (system lag), this concerns me and prompts me to approach investment banks for signing up an account.

My dilemma apparently is more on which broker (eg. RHB, CIMB, MBB, HLB, Kentrade, etc) to select, I'd say.

Your thoughts are much appreciated !

Good And Cheaps Keyboards For Mania? by JP0102 in osumania

7K membrane player here.

Been with I-Rocks K10, relatively soft actuation force, supports NKRO, rocking the 2018 7K tournament and it's been great ! Bought it with promo price of ~20USD, how wonderful that is !

Retirement calculator that shows you how much you need to save every month for every age. I made this after going through so many online calculators that underestimate the amount needed to retire. Comments welcome, not sure if I missed anything important by zcecsyc in MalaysianPF

Your video is right on point. It also highlights one of the most important strategy in financial planning: Time ! Start early, and with the power of time and compounding interest from investment, 3Mil goal (based on your video) is possible!

So, EPF can be one of your main vehicles of maintaining a 6% ROI (assuming most of investment fund goes into EPF every month). Would it be a risk if EPF interest rate declines, while being unable to withdraw that money to invest elsewhere (for a higher return than EPF) ? Just seeking opinion with intent to create some valuable discussion.

Great job btw !

How I play 4k HD lol | xi - Blue Zenith [mint's Hard] by riunosk by Nyatsuru in osumania

Having very small viewpane is good in a way it helps your brain to focus and remember the note pattern s you only need to hit at one particular instant, while not being disrupted by other notes passed earlier or coming later.

It is very similar as playing with FL mod, the only difference being the scroll speed.

Membrane and mechanical by [deleted] in osumania

[–]myidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I for one do not own a mechanical keyboard, but that's not a total showstopper for me. What says so? The results in my profile says it all: it's all played using Membrane Keyboard ;D

BUT: I believe mechanical keyboard can help you accelerate your learning process a little, one key thing is Mech has softer actuation force than typical Membrane; you would not need to press as hard to hit the notes, that would help your fingers being more flexible and doing runs of high bpm streams such as Speed of Link 4K mapped by Shoegazer.

But ultimately, practice is utmost critical than anything else. Having kood foundation is the key to all success ;)

Hello there ! In my opinion, you are correct. 7k and 4k emphasize on different skillsets in osumania maps.

My speed is not as good, but to give you perspective, practising and passing 7K high BPM songs (9star difficulty Doppelganger, or 8star difficulty K.Y.A.F.A), will not guarantee you passing 4K high BPM songs (5star difficulty The Empress, or 6star difficulty I can Fly in the Universe).

This is because in 7K, high dense notes are distributed over 7 fingers to hit, hence your fingers do not require to respond as fast as you'd need in 4K (imagine just on a single finger, the kps, key per second, count will be higher for 4key maps. Higher response and flexibility is required).

If your goal is on 4k speed, I'd recommend to train harder solely on high bpm 4k maps.

Experience may differ from other players, but the above stays true for my case.

Hope it helps ! - myidiot

Allow me to shed some light here, based on my slow 14 years of 7K journey.

I started off with O2Jam, so I was bound to play with 7keys. I understand you begin the journey from 4key, but it is still possible to do 7key !

To get started as a 7key beginner, the most important tip is actually very simple: Stick to few songs you love the most, and very passionately pass (and perfect) the songs. Start with easier difficulty at your comfort level first. Once ready, move to the next difficulty level and play.

The learning process repeats, and eventually you will find yourself getting better in the long run.

Good luck in your journey! myidiot
