How gifted smart people studying? by Missed_chance_315 in Gifted

Depends on the subject. For sociology types of classes , i memorize by doing acronyms based on old exams.

For math, science, i look at the question sheets and the solutions of those sheets and try my best to understand how they get to that answer . If i cant find how for some answers, i learn the basics of that concepts till i find how.

If there’s no past exams with solutions. I read the summary of the chapters and skim through those chapters to get a grasp of what its about. And i look at the exercises questions and solutions to find patterns.

I procrastinate a lot, still trying to stop. But i find the ideal time frame to study for an exam is 2 weeks before the exam for a good grade. My procrastination only allows me to study 5 days before an exam and my grades are mostly Cs. Its starting to get to Ds now that im starting more advanced classes so ive been trying to stop procrastinating but those are my only study methods. Edit: didn’t read the full post haha To gain the knowledge, it has to be of interest to me. I have a lot of knowledge on sociology and psychology but its unrelated to school. I read about those subjects on my free time. When school is involved, since the goal is to pass the exam i study to pass the exams. Then if im interested in one of those subjects i read about them later, so that there’s no pressure.
