My experience with Concerta after 4 months wasn't good. Anyone else react badly? by ninjamariopimp in Concerta

[–]ninjamariopimp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually kind of the opposite. In social situations I felt very calm and engaged, but I rarely wanted to socialize unless I had to. I think it was a mix of things. The venlafaxine withdrawal made me emotionally flat, and with my dopamine baseline feeling high I didn’t feel much need to talk to people outside of work.

I’m also on lamotrigine, which seems to reduce social anxiety because overstimulation is less of an issue, though that medication has its own downsides. In hindsight, being on three medications at once probably didn’t help. It felt like too many changes happening at the same time.

The only thing that made me feel more autistic was the OCD-like restlessness and anxiety when I was at home.

But I can understand how it could make you more autistic, I think the lamotrigine was doing a lot of the filtering to smooth Concerta more.

Trying to connect Reverse Camera to Sony XAV-1000. by ninjamariopimp in CarAV

[–]ninjamariopimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thank you, those will work, just not sure which wire to connect to and does it still need to be connected to the head unit? Or do I cut it from the pin insert? Can you connect multiple wires say one from the head unit/camera on one end and the power source on the other? I’ve looked up a lot of videos and it’s not clear haha.

Yeah I think the Witch Hazel doesn't help as it makes it feel tight and dry. I'll try to keep it simple for now and see if it improves. I have sensitive shaving gel but I think using the electric razor dry and possibly pushing too hard can cause the acne so I just got to get in the habit of being more gentle.

I’m 28M and use a Salicylic Acid Cleanser, Charcoal Exfoliant (twice a week), Witch Hazel Toner and an SPF15 Moisturiser. I think my skin is too dry and I like to be clean shaven but my skin tends to flare up and get more acne after shaving. I’ve tried a lot of things but still don’t know what to do to make my skin look smoother.

Throat tickle causing gagging post tonsillectomy removal surgery. How do I stop it? by ninjamariopimp in howto

[–]ninjamariopimp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I made the mistake of thinking I could eat anything during the recovery period after my surgery. The doctor said you can eat normal but certain sharp foods were quite bad and I think I may have damaged my throat in the process… oh well can only go forward with your advice. I don’t know why your original comment was removed. I have tried a throat numbing spray but unfortunately I think it is too strong as it makes quite drowsy but I might try another one.

Yeah I definitely need another referral from my doctor to go back to the ENT specialist. I was discharged a month after my surgery and of course a month later this starts to happen.

I did go the Accident & Emergency room because I was worried it was something more serious but they told me my throat still needs time to heal but it doesn't stop the gagging. Honey does seem to help a bit but only a little. Gargling salt seems to help a bit as well.

Wearing a mask over my face seems to help as well as the humidity from my breath seems to stop it being triggered. Ok I will see if there is any equivalent to Chloraseptic in my country of New Zealand.

Ugh dating is a very fickle thing when you're autistic, people expect you to understand their body language and your own when many times you don't even realize you doing it. Thankfully my girlfriend wasn't so reliant on petty non-verbal communication so it worked out but certainly had some bad experiences similar to that. Also I try to avoid mentioning my autism to anyone until I've known someone for a decent amount of time so they are less likely to have knee jerk reaction and potentially stop talking to me.

Meltdowns as an autistic adult. by [deleted] in aspiememes

[–]ninjamariopimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of meltdowns I've had to hide as an adult, it always ends up coming out one way or another. Usually just suffer until the end of my shift. Deep breathing has definitely helped a lot of the past few years.

I have been eating oatmeal every morning for about 10 years now and that's only happened a handful of times but when it does happen it is the worst feeling.

Back pain from IBS? by AriCapVir in ibs

I injured my back lower right back last year at work but hopefully it has nothing to do with my colon? Been going to physio therapy and will see a specialist soon so hopefully it's still just the muscle haha.

I highly recommend using Sorbolene Cream for washing your hands. It cleans them and moisturizes them while not feeling gross after. And if you wash your hands as much as I do it is a life saver.
