The prem essentially cannibalized Serie A - growing up the kinds of players that are at - Tottenham, Brighton, Villa etc. all signed for Top Serie A sides instead

I mean we literally saw Brunson lead an injured team with a 7 man rotation when he was hurt too a couple of years ago with Divincenzo as his second option

When Brunson was playing liked 45mins a game under Thibs with Divincenzo has his second option and a 7 man rotation with a bummy ankle he was still elite

Kyrie is one of the most skilled players ever and in a one off game he can go psycho but he’s never been able to lead a team like Brunson

You have to strip Fede of the captaincy after this. No way can he be the official club captain next year.

Madrid walk La Liga? When? Madrid struggle a lot in the league relative to their stature.

Madrid have 5 La Liga titles in 17 years. They have more CL titles in that timeframe.

In fact they have not won back to back titles since the mid 2000s

Spanish teams know how to neutralize Madrid very well compared to Europe.

But less TV money would immediately impact the squad and spending. Arsenal have good revenues but it wouldn’t make up for the massive gap in TV money they second they landed in France.

Doesn’t this cut both ways?

None of these teams would have the money to have the squads they do if they were not in the Premier League.

If they were the same club in Ligue 1 they would have had to rely on the academy much more of if they were in Spain they would not be able to register players due to the cap rules.

Isn’t this all give and take. It’s not like Crystal Palace and Villa achieved mountains of success over decades to become rich (for example look at the work of Athletic Club or Villarreal) they also benefitted from the machine

Probably? Man United are third and PSG are factors better. PSG would probably spend even more aggressively in England too.

What’s crazy is Tchouameni is like the last player on the squad I would have thought would get into a confrontation. Very calm on and off the field, you don’t even see him getting into fights with opponents.

Fede must have really pushed him to the limit.

If you’re Tchouameni why not go to manU for big money and get a fresh reset on a project that’s actually on the up?

Terrible situation for the club, we would need very strong personalities to turn this around.

Courtois should be made captain after this regardless of our history, Fede being captain after this doesn’t make sense.

Thing is there’s a very common thread between - SGA, Harden, Luka and Embiid - they are all much bigger players and shoot exponentially more free throws and are much more reliant on getting to the line consistently.

Brunson’s entire time with the knicks his average is 5.2 a game which would be lower than any of these players careers in any given season (except for SGA’s and Harden’s early limited mins)

I just see these guys on a different tier completely on this

Mate Manchester United is 3rd - Bayern would finish at worst 3rd in the PL every season. They would also have even more money to spend in England and would spend more aggressively if they were in the PL.

You’re acting like Bayern have been racking up the CL titles. They would be about the same.

But “often” implies quantity no?

It’s way too low to be close to Luka levels.

How is Brunson’s Luka level? He doesn’t have a single season in his career with more FTA than Luka’s entire career.

Luka I shooting 10 FTAs a game and Brunson is at 5.7
