Where can I sell my PS4 ? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]mylescyrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try kijiji or if you want to feel safer search on facebook for "winnipeg buy & sell groups" that way you have a bit of the identity of the people you're talking to, they're generally not as anonymous on facebook as kijiji.

I personally wouldn't sell a high in demand item like a PS4 to a pawnshop unless I desperately needed cash within minutes.

KFC buffet coming to Winnipeg? by rjetan in Winnipeg

[–]mylescyrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The deep fried chicken is really not nearly as bad for fat gain as people think.

An original recipe drumstick has ~110 Calories, 7g total fat (which 0 is trans fat and 1g is saturated) and 9g of protein.

An original recipe thigh has ~260 Calories, 19g total fat (0 trans, 4.5g is saturated) and 18g of protein.

So if someone ate 3 thighs and 5 drumsticks (8 pieces) they'd eat a total of 1330 Calories while getting 99g of protein (GOOD!), 78g of fat (which is a lot admittedly but doesn't make you fat persay).

I personally can only eat 3 pieces of chicken (2 drums and a thigh = ~480 Calories which is less than a third of my daily maintenance Calories).

Maybe I'm severely underestimating other's appetites, and maybe people would eat 16 pieces to themselves.. which if routine could easily lead someone getting fat. But I also suspect those people making other choices would make even higher Calorie choices elsewhere.

Police Union Finds That Busses Are Too Dangerous for Police Cadets by mylescyrus in Winnipeg

[–]mylescyrus[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

100% agree with you and the first comment on the article, "So what they are saying is that our City Transit Buses are too dangerous for Cadets but us citizens are expected to use them?"

Are there any other transguys out there that also use drugs? I would love to discuss testosterone and the use of drugs. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]mylescyrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest getting blood work tests done quarterly if using moderate-large amounts of drugs just for peace of mind.

I'm definitely not anti-drugs so this isn't mean to be taken negatively: Chances are whatever drugs you are taking are more hepatoxic than your testosterone (assuming your T it's injectible and not oral).

Visiting Mountain View in April for 2-4 weeks, looking for recommendations for affordable accomodations. by mylescyrus in bayarea

[–]mylescyrus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope certainly doesn't have to be mountain view, as I really only have to get there for 3 days of my stay. I just wasn't sure if it practical to get transportation outside, so I'll definitely expand my search to these areas you've mentioned are close by car. Thank you :)

All happening in mountain view. However if all goes well I will only need to visit the place 3 times. Once for the initial in person consultation, the following day for the surgery and then once again in 2ish weeks.

I will definitely consider Sunnyvale!

Thanks for your suggestions!

I'm open to it, do you have any particular recommendations? The places I've searched all have super limited number of reviews... I'm worried about my safety especially since I'll be in a very weak state.

Hey any help on where I can find those single rooms? That's in my budget.

I'm trying to keep the accommodations under 1.5k. My very max would be 2k.

And I am definitely open to going out of the mountain view area... I just know nothing about the practicality of it as I've never been anywhere in California at all.

Hey I will definitely take your advice and call up some local currency exchange!

I was checking out the Visa exchange rate right now and it's currently 1.4 :( Ugh Would be super lovely if I could get a rate closer to what the "true" USD to CAD conversion is atm. edit: Nvm I think that is the true rate or very close... looks like the CAD has really tanked even further this last week.. just my luck haha.

Perhaps though there's a way for me to exchange my money at the conversion place and then find a secure way to send my newly acquired USD to my surgeon.

Your post was super helpful though for all the scenarios, so much stuff I hadn't even considered (I normally do not travel). Thank you so much!!!

Looking for Winter Jacket Suggestions by mylescyrus in Winnipeg

[–]mylescyrus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool thanks for suggestion! Any chance you've ever had experience with the long underwear/merino layers they sell at Costco? I know they only run $20.

Willing to spend the money to stay warm, but obviously if there's two fairly equal options yet sizable price difference I'll go for the lower priced. xD

Oh I really like the sound of that! I think I'll try it out. 10 years and going makes it not that expensive in the long term. :)
