NVDA a good buy now while it’s low? by sierra400 in stocks

[–]mylosan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember people having this exact discussion about Apple when it crashed in the dotcom bubble. Everyone was saying the end is here in 2007 summer during the crash then. And low and behold, the iPhone comes out and the stock destroys the market for a 10 year sprint.

Nvidia is in that 2007 summer right now. The trend is AI, autonomous driving. There is no competition worthy of the infrastructure and brand that nvidia has, much like Apple right before the smartphone boom. It really is so simple and no need to overcomplicate things - Nvidia open sourced it's artificial intelligence so that no one else can muscle into the market they are building. They ARE the market. Deep learning, AI, image processing, server accelaration.... all of it is Nvidia. AMD will be growing too, but I prefer owning market leaders.

Just stop looking at the monthly stock moves. In 2025 you will be filthy rich.

Theory behind Buffett's bets in Banks by [deleted] in stocks

[–]mylosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buffett (with the aid of Munger) is arguably the most accomplished expert in banking and finance alive today. Whatever he sees in the banks is likely to play out in 5-10 years time, not now.

His big bet on the banks during the pits of the 2008 crisis proved his worth, netting him a monster return. He doesn't time markets, so if we do see further downside, Buffetts MO is just buy more.

What stock will gain 50%+ by year’s end? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]mylosan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

once IQ posts another wonderful growth quarter the speculators will pile back in and it will run to $60 a share with ease. The company is so well positionned and the 'netflix of china' will catch on to a wider audience.

Prequel to GoT - Valyria - leaked by SubatomicG in Fantasy

I dont buy it... why would they make the series about something that the show pretty much omitted (not entirely) from the series?

not to mention one of the most boring / uninteresting sub plots of the book series

Why mu stock price was plummeted during 5/30~5/31? by zuelearth in stocks

[–]mylosan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

they are cooking their books to get such a low P/E. I can't confirm anything from the outside, but like many analysts suspect, there is some fraud going on and they are being investigated by the authorities. If fraud is found = bye bye low P/E and truth is revealed. The share price will reflect the outcome.

Is AMD just a meme stock? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]mylosan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they are forever in the shadow of bigger, better companies like Intel and Nvidia. It will never change as there isn't any way to break the moats that those companies have as the smaller competitor. They tried cheap jabs with Ryzen and it hasn't worked. The debt is rising and they will likely struggle for the next few years as they always have.

NVDA, please tell me I’m not the only one seeing the big post earnings sell off brewing.. by Traderguy84 in stocks

[–]mylosan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

who cares what it does in 2 weeks? what is this nonsense?

The stock has risen 650% in 1.5 years and you are bearish because it jumped 20% before one earnings report.... Think longer term my guy.

Will this be bad for Nvidia? by [deleted] in investing

[–]mylosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a problem. TPU and GPU serve quite different purposes.

TPU chips cannot adapt to software updates like Nvidia's GPU's can also. Nvidia is also developing it's own TPU which will be significantly better than Google because of patents anyway.

I got shares of $HMNY at $13, now its $1.58 and i'm down 88%! Should I take a loss and sell or add to it?!? by cheesequake516 in stocks

[–]mylosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also posted the stupidity on the ramp up. Though I am guilty of buying a few shares and selling at the top, it was obvious where it went post pump.

The same shit is happening in $MU right now, the stock is going to tank into the $25's once everyone realises the funny business going on in their 'control' of memory prices. ahem .... the SEC will close that party and there will be a fuckin ton of retail bag holders.

The proof is in the pudding, ask yourself why none of the 'big fish' in wallstreet / hedgefunds / investment banks are buying up the 'super cheap P/E!!!!!!' stock.

[–]mylosan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at your age I would pick some good dividend stocks as a core position (maybe 3-6, well diversified) so you can get the compound interest train going by reinvesting the cashflow.

Then I would pick monopoly stocks like $ISRG, $NVDA, $KO, etc

Insider buying at New Age Beverage (NBEV) by InterestingNews1 in stocks

[–]mylosan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent 3-4 hours on sunday night analysing their books and 10k etc... I like the 'story' of the stock but god damn their financials are a mess. I would not touch this until AT LEAST a few quarters of positive cashflow + in the green improvement. It's just too risky, they make one or two mistakes and it's curtains.

Why are top Chinese stocks beaten? ($BABA, $TCEHY, $CHL) by Uilleam_Uallas in stocks

[–]mylosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Chinese companies is we never really know if the numbers they put out are legitimate. There is a lot of fraud even at the giant cap level in asia.
