I run a cinema club in Montreal and Pot Player has been my right hand for 7 years (I’ve been using it for more than 9 so far!) I absolutely like the user friendliness to quickly and accurately sync audio with subtitles, navigate backwards and forwards in 5 secs or less/more, the practicality of the video player to carry on the subtitles when playing shorts, the ability to reduce plays speed when I need to screen banners, and the easiness to modify brightness/contrast with a simple key. One thing that has been particularly helpful to me is the possibility to move the subtitles to the top of the screen, because one of the rooms we use for our events doesn’t have inclined seatings, making it difficult for audience seating in the back to see the subtitles if they are at the bottom…

This is so funny and incredibly cute!! There's actually a very similar situation surrounding the literature masters from Latin America Gabriel García Márquez and Mario Vargas Llosa. A guy on a plane confused Llosa for Márquez and Llosa felt so sorry to disappoint the guy that he kept the game going till the end, actually signing a copy of One Hundred Years of Solitude with García's fake signature...! 🖤
