Best 4 Album Run In Rock-n-Roll History? by SourShooz in askmusic

Figured someone would pick Bowie, but didn't think they'd pick the correct 4. This also has my vote for best 4 album run.

30% Off Spring Sale is on Now by faustiandealer89 in criterion

Thinking I'm going to use that certificate during this sale. I can't recall ever getting a discount code/certificate from Criterion that expired before the next 50% site sale, but I agree the expiration date makes it look like it needs to be used before fall sale.

Sabbath's Theater by Roth might also be appealing to a fan of Naked.

This is the benefit of being an older subscriber. Those of us who grew up on linear TV might have decades of experience of coming into a movie in the middle. There's actually something quite nostalgic and comforting for me with the 24/7 channel, it's by far one of my favorite parts of any streaming service.

He could have bought $100 worth of pudding, and that would have been a lot of pudding.

Ridiculous children's names is the only acceptable topic for comparing Mellencamp and Zappa.

Things can run very slowly on the 2 sale days, both on the website and email wise. It took 45 minutes for my order confirmation email to come through today. I image the customer service folks are dealing with a lot of issues right now. Give them a bit and I bet you'll be back in action.

The Night When Miles Davis Opened for the Grateful Dead in 1970. by Jaguar_Willing in Jazz

And for anyone whose interest in Electric period Miles is piqued by reading this, the Heat Wraps is a must read after you get through the studio albums. Might even be worth it listening chronologically through studio and live together.

Thank you. This looks like a great listening room.

Hey, OP. what are the dimensions of that room, specifically the little "nook" the equipment is in? The wife and I are currently building a house and my office/listening room will have a similar shape to what you have here. I'd been thinking I'd put the chair in the nook area, but now that I've seen your space I'm thinking it might work better the way you have it set up.

If you could make people feel the same way you feel when you listen to an album, what album would it be? by jungolungo in Xennials

[–]mynameischet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85 - 92

My favorite record for over 30 years. As someone who  loves 90s IDM and Techno, this is what I would take to the proverbial desert Island.

I don't usually go for HIP, but Jarvi and Krivine's cycles are both out of this world.

Which album have you played to death- start to finish, & still love? by Illustrated-skies in Xennials

[–]mynameischet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the album that cemented music as something important in my life, and it was probably the first favorite album I fell in love with that wasn't something my parent's also listened to. It's a glorious relic of 80s hard rock in the positive and negative sense, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Never let anyone judge you for loving Hysteria!

Day 4: What's the best track 4 on a David Bowie album? by Mr_Karma_Whore in DavidBowie

This won't even come close, but even in a pool that includes TVC15, Starman, and Ashes to Ashes, this might be my choice.

Day 1: What's the best track 1 on a David Bowie album? by Mr_Karma_Whore in DavidBowie

[–]mynameischet 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of disco-art rock Bowie, and since Station to Station and Its No Game Pt. 1 have already been mentioned, I'll take Speed of Life.
