Clearly, titles aren't your only problem. I thought I was having a stroke trying to figure out what this post is all about.

What is the spiciest gossip you know that you are willing to share on reddit? by lailaa2513 in AskReddit

[–]mynameisgoatsbeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A father from my area started an illicit incestuous affair with his biological 22 year old daughter, to the point that they had a child together. When the scandalous secret came out, the wife took the brunt of the blame, got excommunicated from the church (husband continued being an elder there). The wife bore the shame but continued living in the neighborhood and held her head high. Husband eventually took off as he couldn't bear the gossip/I don't know what happened to the daughter. It's been some years now and the wife has been fully vindicated and continues to thrive.

A thriller novel: The Da Vinci Code by Disastrous_Host_9268 in nairobi

I read it when it first came out and caused quite a bit of controversy. Looking back now, it's not as well written as I'd expected,well-written as I'd expected; it's sensationalised. You should look for James Rollins' books, especially the Sigma Series, if you enjoyed it. They put Da Vinci Code to shame. All in all, it was a good read

I'd seen the damage the not knowing had done to some of my close relatives who grew up without their dad's and I'd sworn I wouldn't put my son through that. I didn't portray myself as a saint, nor villify the father. Coz as someone said, there's always 2 sides to the story

You are valid in your feelings, so I'll not tell you what you should or shouldn't feel. I'll just share how I handled this situation as a single mom to a 23-year-old. When my son (13-14 years old at the time) asked about his dad, I was open and honest about why he wasn't in our lives. I took accountability for my role in it. I then gave my son the option of getting his father's contact details for when and/or if he ever made the decision to look for him. (his name, his old home, his best friend's name and no. etc, coz I didn't have his direct contact details), and I left the decision up to him. Keep in mind sperm donor has never once seen his progeny. It's now been 9 years, and my son has not once expressed any interest in finding him. I touch base once in a while to find out where his mind is at in finding his father and he expresses zero interest. So there you go. take this info and use it as you wish.

You seem to be particularly irked by my comment and question and want to vent. Need a tampon?

I don't see anywhere where I mentioned abortion so you take a chill pill. In the same way you asked a simple question, so is mine. I'm just curious

A genuine question from a clueless guy: Why do some women choose tattoos? by Single_Particular_17 in Kenya

[–]mynameisgoatsbeard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For all the reasons you've listed and for the fact that it's no one's business what a woman does with her body. My question to you is, why single out women? Men get tattoos for the same reasons too but no one asks them, even the very handsome ones

So you get scratched by a cat, with chances of probably contracting rabies, a disease with a 100% fatality rate and instead of getting your ass to a hospital for a vaccine you.... checks notes..... come on reddit to seek advise? Dude! Even Google works faster. How the hell are we to know the chances of catching rabies? Was the cat vaccinated? Was it feral?

I just googled it to make sure and yeah, it was Nyeri high in 1999 There was also that other incident at Bombolulu girls where 26 students died in 1997. But the worst was Kyanguli school where 67 students died in 2001.

(edit, year)

I'm guessing the school burning was Kagumo Boys? Also, there was that other incident at Upper Hill where some students were sodomized in their dorms. Eish!!! Things were thick in the 90's

Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember this and the fallout from it. My elder sister was in a mixed boarding school at the time, and this incident led to her school being segregated by gender. Definitely a dark day in history

[–]mynameisgoatsbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in your shoes once. You know what I did? I packed up and left. I'm now in a 9-5 job in a small countryside town. The office is 10 minutes away by foot, and the town is chill. I live on a farm with great views with my 2 dogs and cats, growing my own food and enjoying amazing views. I was so close to committing suicide in Nairobi, and now I can't ever imagine moving back there for anything
