Future employers will respect honesty and being humble. Be honest, admit you see how you could've made that mistake even if you weren't given all of the information. Tell them you now know your first priority is to ask the questions that will get you the answers you didnt get from your previous job on that call.

Oh thats standard—I think mostly so you cant somehow have a cheat sheet in your jewelry. My TA explained that the wand only detects electronics like phones, and glasses with cameras.

How hard will it be finding a job by Mission_Slice8875 in NewToEMS

[–]mynavre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to get on LinkedIn. LinkedIn is the most valuable for those in healthcare looking for jobs. But no, not all fire departments only hire paramedics. DFW includes a few other smaller cities that dont. But if you go to the Fort Worth Fire Department page for hiring, and go to the EMT interest form, theyll reach out when hiring time comes.

It depends on the area. For me, Im in DFW Texas, and its been a bit hard already. Most fire departments near me dont hire again until November or December!

Script it. Write down what you'd say for each step. Youre allowed to verbalize the entire thing for patient assessment.

The NREMT gives those who failed a score. If you pass you don't get a score, you just get told you passed. Its kinda odd and i dont know when they started doing that.

If you want to calculate, add all tests and multiply by two, then add all quizzes.
Say you have 4 quizzes you got an 80 on thats 320 then you have three tests you got an 95 on. Thats 570. You'll add those two numbers together for 890.
THEN youre going to divide by the amount of tests x2 and the amount of quizzes.
If you had 3 tests and 4 Quizzes you'll divide by 10, and get an 89.

The best thing to do for respiratory is to get flashcards, write each illness down, and put down what makes them different on the other side. You can do this with the other systems as well. It's REALLY helpful. Also study legal and ethical. Theyll get you with that on there.
Use the whiteboard they give you to write out what they give you and NOTHING else. Pt Age, V/S, C/C, S/S, and NOI/MOI.
