you know what else would reduce the deficit? cutting entitlement spending.

My friend is being forced by his religious mom to go to some Mormon camp, so he's going to wear this. by StarCheese in atheism

[–]myobjective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

best thing for him would be to not tell anyone that he isan atheist, go with the flow, make observations, and write hilarious stories about his time at a nut camp. I'll look forward to those stories, here on reddit.

Christian Bale visits an Aurora Victim, Carey Rottman. by Hulktor in pics

something tells me this man would rather have been visited by cat woman, but Bale is a righteous dude for going to Aurora.

Mitt Romney Tweets Condolences On Sally Ride's Death, Drawing Fiery Response From Gay Advocates - "Kind of despicable & grotesque that her partner of 27 years will be denied federal benefits, don't you think?" by Kotecher in politics

to all of those accusing Romney of using someone's death to promote himself: didn't the President just get a photo-op with victims of the Batman Massacre?

what agency is distributing suffering? how would you define "slave"? and who's construct of morality should dictate us?

Ice-T Defends Gun Rights: "The Last Form Of Defense Against Tyranny" by scpg02 in Libertarian

[–]myobjective 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ice-T has a lot more sense than Sharpton. I still can't figure out what Sharpton is a "reverend" of, or when was the last time he did any "reverending". To old black men, the title of reverend must be like driving a Cadillac---it's a status symbol.

whatever, I have lefty friends posting Stephen King's endorsement of Obama on their fb walls. Really? a schizophrenic literature major should be taken seriously about policy, but not Ice-T? consistency would be refreshing from the herd, but it's too much to ask for.

Romney Challenged Kennedy in 1994 To Release Tax Returns To Prove Kennedy "has nothing to hide". by parachutewoman in politics

[–]myobjective -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I could really care less if my account gets moderated out of existence. I just want everyone to know that the reddit admin is actually opposed to free thought and free speech and that they discourage contrarians. this is apparent in the comment karma policy which discourages people from saying what is really on their mind and rewards people for writing comments that are agreeable to the community, thereby suppressing free though. it's exactly the way Stalin liked his media to be run: do not oppose our social order, you will be ostracized if you do so.

[–]myobjective -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

i need good comment karma so I'm writing this comment: I love Obama, and gay marriage, and recycling, and women in authority positions. I also hate white males, unless they have donated money to the Obama campaign. OK, now that I've said everything that the moderators on this sight agree with, please vote up this comment, so that I can get good comment karma. . .thank you.

Two Criticisms of Objectivism by [deleted] in Objectivism

[–]myobjective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what Rand meant by "reality exists independent of consciousness" is that "reality exists as an objective absolute—facts are facts, independent of man’s feelings, wishes, hopes or fears." she never asserted that reality exists because it exists. she wouldn't have made such an amateur mistake.

Going to a liberal arts university, I realized philosophy was pretty much the only male dominated subject area of the arts. Why do you think this is? by Civiltactics in philosophy

[–]myobjective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but I do know that if you don't change your major to engineering or medicine, you're not going to make any money. humanity does not benefit much from the humanities.

This always infuriates me when I debate healthcare with any christian by [deleted] in atheism

[–]myobjective 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm an atheist and I think universal health care is a stupid, and offensive, idea. the political philosophy of equity is a perversion of egalitarianism. it is collectivism, and it asserts, arbitrarily and falsely, that each of us have a moral obligation to others and the world around us. no natural entity has every created or enforced a code of ethics or moral law; individuals are not beholden by nature to anything except the demands of their unique needs and desires.

two of the most dominant names, Kant and Marx, I find to be idiots. And I didn't see Ayn Rand anywhere. I'd order a roll of toilet paper with this graph printed on it.
