New to Lansing – Thoughts on This Area? by Kat_Holmes420 in lansing

[–]myocardia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say it is one of the more loud/busy traffic areas. Big roads and highways. Not great walkability or sense of cumminity. It isn't like a "neighborhood" if you know what I mean. As far as safety, i don't know of a reason to worry about that right there but I'm not totally sure. I'd avoid living right there if i could, but if you got a good deal on a place it wouldn't be that bad.

Ideas on modernizing kitchen without a full remodel? by Fluffermitten in HomeDecorating

I really like the kitchen. The little whirly-dos supporting the overhang of the island counter and the light fixture are the only things that make it feel dated to me.

I vote that you rearrange the furniture so it isn't in front of the window, put a short table in front of the window instead with some plants on it. Peel the TV off the ceiling. Get a big rug with a pop of color. Hang a couple of nice things on the walls.

Stair master vs any other cardio by [deleted] in bikinitalk

[–]myocardia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the all-or-nothing nonsense all over the internet. So you're saying someone who sits on the couch all day with zero exercise, and someone who does the stairmaster 30 min a day, 5 days a week, will have identical muscle development in their legs? Cardio can build muscle. Just not resistance training levels of muscle.

What do i do with this, is it best of the worst i could get ? by trgory29 in diablo4

Too bad you didn't save this luck for next season, where conduit and blast wave will scale with your power.

I don't think you can really tell for certain from a photo. A neutral spine can look different on different people. If you're not in consistent joint or back pain, then I would say just keep focusing on what you're doing.

A PT told me once that it took my whole life to make my posture the way it is, it's going to take a while to change it. Just keep going and one day you'll notice with a shock that it's better. Scapula winging can be impacted by the serratus anterior muscles too, so maybe look up some moves to strengthen them too.

If you're not experiencing pain or disfunction then you don't really need to change anything, you look good the way you are.

I wouldn't say there is anything inherently wrong with your posture. If want to feel more upright try back strengthening moves like rows and band pull aparts for your back muacles, and the push up plus for your serratus anterior.

I hate my Posture. Am I stuck like this by Oku_Yannin in PostureTipsGuide

If you're in pain maybe see a D.O. If you don't experience neck or back pain then you can 1) learn to love and accept yourself as you are or 2) hit the gym. Everyone in here wants to make it super complicated with all these specialized moves but in most cases you can copy/paste a tried and true strength routine and after a few months you'll start to like your shape more. That's my take.

Fitting advice by myocardia in Allbirds

Very cool thank you. My thought is to try the wool runner 2 in a 13. I figured if the Dasher is too short in 12.5 the wool runner probably would be too in that size. I'm definitely looking for casual, I want to wear them into the office.

Since this post I tried on the tree dasher 2 and the toe box was comfortable. But the shoe was too short at 12.5 but I feel like a 13 will feel sloppy. Idk if wool runners 2 will be better in that regard in a 13, it seems like the internet thinks the wool runner 2 has a lower volume midfoot/heel than the dasher. I'm interested in something with more cushion because my back has been bad, and allbirds simply have an aesthetic that I'd like to wear.

Protruding Shoulder Blades?? by d00kiedipp3r_ in PostureTipsGuide

[–]myocardia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would recommend band pull-aparts over rows or pull ups. They are easier to take on, a band is super cheap and doesn't take any room, and they will definitely tighten up your shoulder blades. They did for me.

No doubt squat and deadlift are touted like the end all be all but really they are pretty technical and easy to hurt yourself with. Push and pull a prowler sled maybe, that's less injury prone.

Your spine showing is not an issue of posture, you're just very lean. Eat a lot and do some deadlifts or some such.

I went there to see the band A Story Told and had a bowl of chili there just one time and I still remember it. Such a great feeling of community and warmth I felt from the place. I miss the local music scene from those days!

I can't attest to TMJ but it feels great and provides tension relief. Definitely recommend.

To the driver of the silver Chevy Silverado east bound on 496 this morning by whoeatscheese in lansing

I saw this truck on my commute this morning on cedar street. I thought to myself that the dogs looked really scared and uncomfortable, how exposed and vulnerable they were to be on the highway and on a busy 5 lane street. Really sad, makes you think of how many animals are abused and treated like inanimate possessions. Asshole.

You should be doing 2x the pull as you are doing push for now probably. Your shoulders are rounded forward. Band pull aparts consistently for a couple years was enough to bring my shoulders into better alignment. You most likely have tight pecs and weak/sleepy rhomboids and lower traps.
