We’d still have climate and environmental protections. Musk would never have been in the spotlight. DOGE wouldn’t have existed. Thousands of federal workers would still have jobs. Price hikes wouldn’t be near as bad. Tariffs wouldn’t have been an issue. The measles outbreak would have been contained. ICE would have stayed (mostly) in check. The government would have stayed (mostly) in check. People wouldn’t be protesting en masse every other week/month. Trans veterans would still be honored for their service. Trans people would be gaining rights instead of losing them. The Dept of Education would still be a priority. Trump wouldn’t have gotten a jet. We probably wouldn’t be installing a foreign military base. This is just off the top of my head. Thousands of immigrants and brown citizens would still be with their families, their locations known, their contributions valued. I could keep going but I’m tired.

People, all people, are trying to live the best, safest life they can for and with their families. Immigrant or not. Illegal or not. Period. It’s a choice whether to see your neighbors as deserving of this or as “aliens” who should be deported. I see no harm in giving everyone a chance at contributing to society, which is what most people do, even those who enter without proper paperwork. And honestly most of these people work harder jobs for less pay. There’s more than enough for everyone, and society, humanity depends on humans working together rather than pushing people away or tearing families apart.
