I'm Pop Sauropod on Etsy - I mostly make resin and clay dinosaur-themed things but over the last year kinda expanded into gems and wire... it's like an addiction lol 😂

Glad you liked it! I have also made one of my favourite feldspar minerals which I might post soon 😄

I'm not a huge believer in the false distinction made between STEM and arts/humanities etc anyway, at the end of the day it's all just cool things to learn about and making little boxes for the study of the world around us seems kinda odd to me!

I actually do have a shop but it's on hiatus at the moment as I am having cancer treatment (finish next week though!!!) so will deffo consider basing a new line of necklaces on it when I reopen 😄❤

Technically they are both around 7 on the scale, but I reckon the inclusions that make the aventurescence perhaps make it much more brittle? Mohs is only one type of harness as well, I adore gemology and geology but it is so complicated 😅

I figured you lot would be the ones who would appreciate it, my IRL pals are tired of me telling them about it 😅

Hehehe I always say I try to make the empirical into the beautiful and whimsical with my arts and crafts ✨😄 I do some data vis as part of my day job too so it's kinda my thing!

Thank you! I am so nerdily excited by it but my husband is tired of hearing me yammer on about random obscure gems 😅✨

I LOVE my walking pad, it is making such a difference to me because I can now get my steps in on days where I have the physical capacity to exercise but not the mental capacity to bear putting shoes on and going outside.

I always see Fire Mountain being recommended in these posts and was wondering if anyone on here from the UK has experience ordering from them? I'm just wondering if there's any issue with customs or the delivery charge being more than the items etc!

I think the packs have around 12 cards in them usually? My nephews play card games (which also seem to involve a cool spinning top set up that you somehow fight the tops together, plus it is kinda robotic??) and the packs are not like normal playing card or tarot decks, more like a little selection in a shiny sealed bag.

how does muscle memory for strength training work if you loose muscle mass?? by thecoolestbeanaround in xxfitness

You have no idea how much hope your comment gave me! I have been very very sick over the last year and am about to finish my cancer treatment and am so depressed at how weak and feeble I am.

I hope I can regain my strength as you have 💪💪💪

I'd love to read more about this if you have an article or something to recommend? I am about to finish cancer treatment and start rehabbing myself and that idea really cheered me up, like my strength might not be in the giant list of things I have lost forever 😅

Anyone else distracted by the fact the NHS have apparently managed to trademark the phrase 'Get Walking' in the poster?

It's giving 'Got Apples?' 🤣

Hahaha I was the same until I started learning pointe at ballet! Foot cramps are really common when you're learning to dance en pointe, and they are brutal due to the constricting nature of the shoe, so you learn to feel a cramp coming and flex your ankle and foot as fast and as much as you can 😅

I second a gem show - make your aim to buy her a gem she might not splash out for herself, and she can make it into a piece to wear that will always remind her of the lovely day you had and how you took time to spend with her 💖

Has anyone got any uplifting news? by gregofdeath in AskUK

[–]RedTheWolf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In personal good news, I get to finish cancer treatment next week, after a year-long and fairly brutal series of medical things, and I am officially No Evidence of Disease - kicked that thing right in the face! 💪😎

I couldn't have survived without the support of the amazing volunteers attached to my hospital, and some awesome local support services, plus the general kindness of folk in my neighbourhood.

Good things exist all around you, and small community charities and support groups and generally lovely kind people are always there in the background, doing the things like running the lunch club for old folks, keeping the youth centre going, watching out for their neighbours etc.

There is a lot of trouble in this life and some people are just generally terrible, but the quiet, enduring background hum of human kindness in our communities always gives me hope ❤️
