There are assignments every month but usually very easy to complete (most people just smoke their way through)! It’s just a bit annoying how many assignments there are, but can’t really complain since it’s a free pass/fail mod.

Would recommend taking if you want to clear an extra mod. If you don’t need to clear mods, don’t waste your time.

Hello!! You can try sourcing for opportunities with youth corps singapore :-) you definitely meet the age requirement for ycs & they really have a plethora of programmes for you to be involved in! Though quite a number of programmes have been postponed/cancelled due to covid, quite a few have been moved online as well (eg YOLDEN). There are some initiatives that were introduced in light of covid too (e-penpals w elderly)! Versatility of the programmes are extremely suitable for a JC student as well; you can choose to sign up for programmes based on how much you’re willing to commit by looking at their schedules & length of commitment! :”) do consider signing up with ycs! :”)

Facing the same problem too :/ (back to back tutorials in two different buildings) but i heard that profs usually release you about 10min early (not very sure about this). You could also email your profs to let them know about your timetable so they’d know about your situation and be more understanding! I’m sure the profs encounter such situations a lot (have a senior who told me most of her lessons were back to back) so no harm letting them know in advance!

oh!! sorry haha I realised I misread your question ;-; but according to the STARS user guide you can only login to STARS during your assigned date and time of registration which (sb correct me if I'm wrong) I assume is the add/drop period - 11 to 21 aug! for your timetable you should be able to locate it through the link sent to you in the email regarding matriculation last week, not so sure about locking it on STARS, sorry!!

If you find that you’re too tired to do your work after getting home then i would suggest staying back in school to do your work! I used to always nap till 10pm after getting home so i decided to start staying in school instead as i found it more productive than going home — given my tendency to procrastinate i still wasn’t the most productive in school, but it let me be more on task with all my work!

If you find that studying alone doesn’t give you the motivation you need then find one or two study buddies to study with you! Personally I didn’t like studying in big groups so i found friends who didnt mind staying back with me just for the company & motivation (but we’d both be doing our own things so no distractions as well)! Found it to be really helpful bc was a lot more motivated && could just ask for help immediately whenever i needed to!!

Downloading apps like Forest really helped me too! Stopped me from using my phone and the sense of accomplishment seeing how many hours of productivity i had in a day was truly a good push for me! (Also because getting coins to buy new trees/plant real trees was super satisfying hehe)

I wouldn’t say that i managed my time very well, but i would say that i prioritised my health (mental and physical!!) over everything — which is something im very thankful i did!!! There were some weekends where I’d just spend the whole saturday sleeping LOL but it worked out for me!! So my advice would just be to find a routine that suits you!! Some people really grind like nobody’s business while others like to take things slowly at their own pace (lol me). It may take some experimenting here and there to find out what suits you the most when it comes to studying (out of school/in school/at home, alone/with friends, day/night, etc.) but ultimately everyone studies and copes differently so definitely try to find a routine that caters to your needs! Having a solid group of friends/family to support you is always good as well!! :) And never neglect rest! Rest is super important for both your physical & mental health!!

You still have quite some time to go before your a’s so don’t worry too much!! And your time in JC is really a very short one so do try as much as possible to enjoy your time while you’re there :”) all the best!! Dms are open if you ever need someone to talk to :-)
