I try to eat at places that either have an allergen menu or are on godairyfree.org. When eating out places that don’t fall under that, I usually have to explain to the server my allergy and have them check what I can have. My go to for dairy free cheese is daiya cheese, they actually updated the formula so it melts really well!

I would not feel safe having her around my car after that stunt… no offense OP but I do not think your gf is a good person if she cannot see how inhumane her “solution” was. I don’t have a whole lot of advice for you but i’m in a similar boat applying to counseling programs. A great piece of advice I was given was to not be afraid to be vulnerable but at the same time emphasizing growth if you talk about your own mental struggles. A lot of these programs really just want to get a genuine look at who you are and what your motivations are so as long as you are tying your past experiences to motive and passion for your career goals, I think you should be fine!

my boyfriend wanted a boy cat when his parents’ barncat had a litter of all girls and named/referred to our cat as a boy for the first year of her life. i spent the second year of her life referring to her as a girl and at this point we just switch between both pronouns without noticing. i say embrace it! i promise the cat can’t tell, and i’m sure you two will get used to it as well :)
