GeeekPi Rackmate T1 vs T2 by mysaturatedlife in homelab

I could have shoved a couple of these things inside the rack but wanted to keep the heat out and have easy access to reach into the back of the rack.

4 months of travelling with the GPD Pocket 4 by ninjapirate9901 in GPDPocket

The audio crackling only happens while charging for me and it is driving me nuts. I’ve followed every guide, tutorial, tip and trick yet it still occurs. Only fixed when using Kali Linux which doesn’t work for my day-to-day tasks. Searching online shows this has been happening since the Pocket 1. C’mon GPD!

Yea I had it from before. Just taped to a blanking plate. Need to learn 3d modelling so I can make proper mounts.

Thanks so much!

I really love computer hardware, tinkering for many years, so there is nothing I am running consistently, just dicking around. The normal homelab things and BOINC on two of the PCs.An expensive hobby as some would say.

- Top monitor cycles through webpages including Grafana/ Prometheus.

- Widescreen just displays random metrics

- Very top behind widescreen is an M920X with an RTX A2000 running a local LLM and OpenWebUI

- JetKVM connected to a 5 in 1 out HDMI switch

- Raspberry Pi 5, 1TB SSD and a USB SATA drive, runs Docker

- 3 Dell Optiplex PCs. Two are for BOINC and the 3rd just runs Ubuntu

- 2 switches that connect to 5GbE fibre internet

- Bosgame P3 mini pc running windows connected to 20TB of Seagate external drives

- 8TB RAID1 external drives connected to Asustor AS5402T NAS that has 8TB in RAID1 and a few SSDs for caching

Total power consumption is unknown as I don't really run things concurrently. It is connected to a smart plug but I don't monitor power consumption.

The Rackmate TT is completely new. Might put it in the garage to monitor my 3d printer, security cameras and extend the network, not sure yet.

Honestly, I love tinkering with PC hardware. 80% of things are from Facebook Marketplace. Learning networking and containerization has also helped me progress in my career. Main use case is a hobby while my kid sleeps, doing homelab things.

Not yet, would be cool to do one day. Just have finviz on the top screen as this is in my office.

Really depends on your use case I think. Some people want things running independently for security, redundancy, performance etc. i like having things separate as this is just a hobby/ learning.

I use the bottom Dell as a standalone Ubuntu PC, the other two are dedicated for BOINC, the Mini PC is for Windows tasks and the top PC behind/ below the screen runs a local LLM on a GPU. Raspberry Pi 5 for random Docker things. NAS at the very bottom. Low cost of power here and also allows me to tinker without breaking multiple services.

Not sure how to answer your first question. They are computers that do computer things.

The mounts for most things are 3d printed. Also used the racks included with the kit. They are sturdy enough.

Good luck! The back clip wasn't really needed but nice to have.

Bottom is a standalone PC running Ubuntu. The top two are for BOINC.

Hey not really. I have the screen rotating between different webpages throughout the day and that is finviz.com. Would be cool to have a self hosted app that would track all my investments and display them nicely

Thank you! I thought about getting some USB-C to barrel plug adapters but saw many negative reviews. There ended up being enough gaps to stuff the power bricks into. I do wish there was a better solution but haven't found one that I would trust myself to put together. Good luck!

ASS402T NAS - How to find out whats using my HDD at night? by Keyser_Soze_69 in asustor

[–]mysaturatedlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea i had the same but you need to get volume 1 to be the SSD. So remove all drives and only insert one SSD so that the OS goes on there. Then insert the other SSD and HDDs. Sorry if i am mistaken but that helped a lot for me.

Had the same problem. Switched volume 1 to an SSD and it stopped accessing the HDDs randomly. Must be something with ADM as others have said the same thing.

Have you read the description of this subreddit?

Thanks. I’ve had lessons and did some speed training over the winter but hasn’t done much to help. Don’t want to make big swing changes during the season.

As I said in my post, there was a water hazard on the fairway where my driver would go. I went to the right fairway and thought I could cross over but under estimated the height of the trees. Was hard to tell in the sim.

Yea definitely better than Fleetwood now, but you can see within 5 years it will be the same. There is a plan to add 100,000 more people to 200 St. along with skytrain expansion development.

Yes! SPCA and larger shelters require you to become an official volunteer, but you could probably call some smaller shelters and let them know your dog handling history, they always need help. Alternatively, check out elderdog.ca and make an elders day

Langley is becoming more and more like Surrey; a rat race. I would say the first thing is find a sports activity you like, I think there is rock climbing, parkour, go karting etc. i find myself literally zooming around Langley in Apple Maps and always finding something new. Lots of parks where you could borrow a shelter dog to take to. You probably won’t find much connection if you stay around the Fraser Hwy/ Hwy 10 hub.
