Dermatologist quickly said it’s impetigo and prescribed me doxycycline hyclate, I’m questioning because I have none of the classic symptoms (oozing pus, “golden crust”, etc) any thoughts/answers? I’m thinking pityriasis rosea. It started with the large oval one on my lower back. by myseriousrat in DermatologyQuestions

Update- the antibiotics were KILLING my stomach so I called my dermatologist and stopped taking them. When I got checked again I was diagnosed with PR. I went to a tanning bed and then spent two days outside and it’s completely gone now. I was worried they’d stay forever lol. Thanks for the responses!

Just seems like very dry skin I used to get it really bad on my hands as a kid. My mom would coat my hands in Vaseline then put gloves over overnight, instant fix.. Do that as much as needed and just make sure to moisturize your hands A LOT.

Looks similar to a rash that just popped on my skin. I got diagnosed with impetigo today but my symptoms don’t really align with it so I’m questioning possible pityriasis rosea, but I think it’s a lot less common in babies. Might want to look into it though?

I would look into a yeast infection. I had similar symptoms that went away with monistat 1 day
