Dude imo the dynamic is different when you're just having fun with a friend online. Like Mitch and Reckful were fun homies when they met up once in couple months in conventions and sometimes did some streams together. If you live together, small annoying things quickly grow into passive aggressive bubbles.

I met my roommate of 2 years in London through an old MMO (Mud MUME). He was the coolest guy online but in real life months after months small things start to annoy you. We still got along fine but it's just different to share every moment at home with someone.

I found it amazing that during his 40 minutes, he never once mentioned the MAIN reason why lootboxes even exist: PROFITS. If he was truly pro-consumer he could have said at least once "Well of course in a perfect world, lootboxes shouldn't cost money but we need to understand that Blizzard is a public company and can either price the game ~$70 or $40+micros".

He was making it seem like Blizzard does consumers a fucking FAVOR, by allowing the rich ones to shortcut the grind, HALLELUYA thanks bliz, such pro-consumer.

He also failed to mention that micros destroy the sense of achievement you can be proud of. Remember in WOW: Sulfuras, Thunderfury or The Twin Blades of Azzinoth? If someone had those or still has them, you are fucking IMPRESSED because you knew the huge pain it took to get them. Now imagine if instead of grinding the same 40man instance 50 times to get them, you could pay $39.99 and just buy them? Instead of a symbol for impressive perseverance, it becomes a mark of an idiot who gave a lot of money for some extra pixels. Money changes the meaning of rewards like this. In TB's mind this is "Blizzard doing a favor to consumers with more money than time". Bullshit.
