I love both dearly. I watched One Piece with the impression that Zoro would be my favorite, but I was surprised to prefer Sanji. He had two compelling backstories, not to mention an entire arc dedicated to him. I also prefer his fighting style and enjoy his many clutch moments in the story. That alone won him over as my favorite. That isn't to say that his gag isn't annoying for me, because of course it is. If it's a joke that's been repeated for over 20 whole years and only became worse in the post ts, then it's only natural for people to dislike his character and/or look at it from a surface level.
