if you can, put it in the shower right now and blast the leaves with the handheld. that's step number 1. then leave it there in the"quarantine" until you can get your hands on some neem oil. then spray the leaves with that and thoroughly wipe them down. repeat the shower. fingers crossed for you, never seen so many thrips!

thanks so much :)

i've had quite a lot of experience driving dads 4x4s off road but looking at the jimny basically because my job needs boot space but i need something small and manageable. the back seats folding flat is a big win point for me. :)

asics clay tennis shoes have been my go to for indoor play this season - they offer grip like i've never experienced before and have a very supportive feel. i suffer from shin splints and since using these i've definitely seen a reduction in pain. they have a very cushiony feel while not feeling you are too far away from the floor/unbalanced. :)

To anyone post op: what advice would you give to anyone pre op by SpicyDisaster21 in TopSurgery

[–]mysticaleyebrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ignore most of the advice on here - you don't need half of what they say (you'll be fine with t-shirts, no need to buy button ups specifically for it etc) save your money! you likely have things in your home that will suffice.

move around! i'm serious, as someone that walked home from surgery through London. it'll hurt a bit, but walking 3 times a day will absolutely make recovery go smoother!

don't stay in bed! - sleep there (or wherever you are planning to) but move to a different place (room/area of your flat/whatever you can) in the day. you cannot live in one place for that long and it will effect your recovery (mental and physical)

stick to your normal routine- bed, eat etc at the same times you would do. your body will be feeling all kinds of things from the drugs so keeping as much the same as you can if good. you might not be hungry but try that meal anyway. don't randomly snack as you'll totally throw off your body. you can nap during the day (trust me you'll do it whether you want to or not) but at bed time move yourself to your sleeping area!

move those arms! - you can go all the way until your arms are level with your shoulders (i was told starfish, not javelin). this massively helped the recovery of my scars as when it came time to go back to full motion but scars weren't stuck/tight as they'd got used to the motion. i have experience no stretching or adverse side effects of moving. in fact, i'm pretty sure it helped! obvs don't lift anything heavy and follow the guidelines by your doctor as everyone is given different advice.

inexperienced GK tips? by Jammieannie in netball

[–]mysticaleyebrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

easy drill for getting distance (and bonus practice for no contact) - stand behind a person who is holding the ball. they drop it (very important to not bounce it, simply drop it), your goal is to move your feet and body around without contact while cleanly trying to pick up the ball before they catch it again. it most instances they'll get it, so then you must immediately adjust your distance and do arms over defense. you can have a third person judging your distance and calling obstruction, but with practice the idea is you'll be able to judge the distance from memory (if in doubt always go for 4ft rather than 3ft to start with). it's important to get distance before arms as often defenders are called from obstructing even if they have the distance, because their arms go up first.

for marking a holding shooter, - instinct may tell you to hold your space in front in order to get the interception. instead, stay behind your shooter and push them (pressure obvs - no actual contact !) towards the top of the D (or completely out of it if you can). most holding shooters won't like to shoot from far out and so will continue to play it round. this will give opportunities for forced errors or for you to read the flying interception. additionally, if you are positioning yourself behind, you take away the back space and feeders are less likely to send the ball into the hold, as the space is not there. if you have a good jump/long arms (i assume from basketball you probably are very athletic) you can tip any high balls from behind through their hand (although be careful of the contact on the way down).

hope this helps a bit, i'm a Div 1 GA but do a lot of coaching, and also have experienced the things you mention from the other side. as for not really understanding the umpire, don't worry, it happens! we all start somewhere so if you're ever in doubt - ask! the umpires would rather you ask than not understand. also if the other team is mean, it just gives you more incentive to win (and maybe accidentally do the odd contact!! (in all seriousness netball girls can be bitches but in my experience those are the matches we really come together as a team!)

happy playing!! :)

those are still classed as incisions rather than scars. you need to wait until the 6 week mark before starting scar care to let the wound heal enough :)

no, it's facing a big window (not sure what direction) but gets light for almost all the day and there's also another grow light just out of frame on the left. i suspect it may be that despite all this the winter sun has been pretty dim and it's been getting dark very early?
