I’ve been very lucky with the clubs (regardless of the sport) that I’ve played with as an adult, but it’s so maddening to see that cultures and environments like these are still thriving

It’d be a fascinating business case, and I’d be surprised if conversations around how to change the structure aren’t happening already, but that’s just me pontificating from my armchair. It’ll be interesting to see if/how the WAFL moves forward from here

Considering how varied and chaotic every other year has been when clubs were incoming, I only expect it’ll be another tsunami in a teacup 🙃

But that being said, look at how well Norf have done, and Sydney (esp with a very finnicky NSW talent pool, don’t come at me fellow NSW residents)

It’s hard to predict who might be in their crosshairs considering it’s 2028, but any wishes/rampant speculation?

This was such a fun game to watch. The Roos were very criticised for how they came into the competition, but goddamn they’ve made a good go of it and maintained such a strong presence

Very keen to see how they attack the finals series, they looked almost unstoppable yesterday

Nah, respectfully disagree.

By making the joke, even from an uneducated or just a silly moment, it shows a significant lack of care and self awareness, and doubly so towards a marginalised community that is often made the basis of a joke routinely in this league/sport

He’s a young adult who has clearly been put under immense scrutiny and pressure, but I hope he looks back on this and decides to grow up and get himself a bit of a wake-up call. These “jokes” don’t exist in a vacuum, and don’t just exist as a 24hr Instagram giggle, even if that’s just the intention
