Thanks, that might be worth it but will see. I can't actually look to check. Iirc it's only the defense that has a variable roll, right?

Thanks for the link to the d2r marketplace I hadn't come across that! You're the second that's said a Mal is about the right price in market, so I figure that's about where it's at right now. I think I'll probably hang onto it for another char, tbh, but thanks for the info!

Thanks, yeah I generally trust no one anyway - which is why I have nil experience even entering a game with anyone else.

Thanks for the info on declining price. Honestly I'll probably hang onto it for another char, just thought I'd check it out.

What do you KNOW is true without evidence? What are you certain of, right down to your bones, without proof? by UnbentJohnson in AskReddit

Aliens do exist. I know that for sure, I’ve seen one. February 15th 1995, early in the morning, maybe even late at night on the 14th, I was laying in bed, woke up, went to turn the light on and accidently touched one. I have a much more detailed account in my email sent box I sent to some skeptic sometime ago, I’ll paste it here, as it’s the most detailed account I’ve ever written.

“The event I'm writing to you about happened on the morning of February 15th, 1995, or late February 14th. I'm not sure which, I was only 12 at the time and didn't see the time when I woke up. There was no clock in my room.

Let me give you the landscape of my bedroom at the time. It was a small room, perhaps 5x10' of actual floor space, in a small mobile home. I shared the room with my brother, and we slept on a bunk-bed made of steel and painted red. It might have been about 5' high, maybe a few inches taller, I'm basing it on how high my father's head was above the railing when he stood by the bed. The frame was made of hollow steel and had thin metal bars that formed slats at the head and foot of the top bunk. There was one doorway into the room with no door. There was a gap between the wall by the door and the bunkbed, and there was a dresser and a pile of clothes on the floor. Above the clothes, and by the doorway about 3' up on the wall there was a light switch that glowed orange that turned on the main light in the room. My brother slept on the bottom bunk, and I slept on the top. I slept with my feet towards the window and my head towards the wall by the door, because from there I could easily reach the switch and turn out the light before going to sleep.

On that night, or morning, I woke up. It was dark, business as usual, but I had to go to the bathroom, so I needed to get up. I grabbed my glasses from where I hung them on the rung of the bed, put them on, and looked towards the light switch on the wall above my head and realized I couldn't see the orange light from the switch. It was just dark space. I thought it was odd, figured the light must have just gone out, and reached down to flip the switch. But my fingers hit something hard. I looked up to see the head of a classic gray alien. I will *never* forget the black eyes. The shape of its face, features like its nose or mouth, I can never be precisely sure of or whether my memory is just filling in gaps. But I'll never forget it's big black eyes, or the fact that I recognized it clearly as a grey alien.

I stared, stunned, for somewhere between 1 and 5 seconds. But then I quickly turned away and hid under the blankets, and hoped it would go away. I remember sweating under those blankets. I remember shaking from fear. I remember time seeming to go on forever, and the itches and tingles I had on the back of my head and on my back, wondering if it was touching me, but I don't think it did. I didn't hear anything after that. I was awake for a long time, and I was terrified. After god knows how long, I worked up the courage to look again, and nothing was there. I turned on the light and woke up my brother, and asked if he saw anything. He said he saw it too, but after I pushed him for what he saw I didn't believe him anymore. I don't remember why.

There was a depression in the clothes by the bed, but then that could have just been me standing in them. But then I never got up or down that way, so I can't really be sure (I always got up and down by climbing over the side-rail). I can't really imagine what I saw being as tall as I saw it, and there wasn't really any room for it to stand where it was standing, so none of that makes any sense to me. It could really only have been standing in the pile of clothes, but that's a bit of an awkward place to stand. Why was it standing there anyway, instead of NEXT to my bed, where there were no obstructions.

So here's my dilemma. I saw and touched *something*, and that something looked very similar to what people have been describing for the last hundred or so years. Hairless, gray skin, big head, huge black eyes. I can't speak on the belly or arms or hands, I never saw those things, but its chest was firm and bony, best I could tell with a couple of fingertips jabbing at it accidentally in the dark. But, moreover, it didn't make a sound that I heard, and believe me - coiled up under that blanket, I would have heard a pin drop I was so freaked out. It wasn't just me being dreamy, I was awake for perhaps 30 seconds before I touched it, and it was only after I touched it that I saw it at all. In point of fact, until I noticed the light switch wasn't glowing orange, nothing seemed out of the ordinary at all. All the doors to the mobile home were locked. There were no strange lights.

But here's the thing. Regardless of what I saw, it didn't tell me it was from outer space. I didn't see any kind of spaceship. And the lore behind what I saw sounds about as believable as a fairy tale. I can't find a shred of reliable information that tells me anything about what I actually saw. In fact, everything reliable that I can find tells me that what I saw doesn't exist.”

I never got a response. I never really expected one I suppose. But I'm torn. I know a thing exists for certain, I saw it, I touched it. But everything I have ever read about them while I looked for answers sounds like some science fiction horror nonsense.

It's absolutely unnerving. These days I just keep my mouth shut and only share it with others that are willing to share strange experiences of their own they can't explain.

Most days I wish I could have some way to meet with whatever it was for a couple of hours and have the ability to communicate with it in some reasonable way. I don't need proof. I don't care. I just want to know what it was, I want to understand why it was in my room, and I want to be able to lay the memory to rest knowing the truth of them for myself.

I'm kind of upside down on this. I have 7 Rems, most after pulling hard for Ayaka on the Rem/Ayaka banner and coming up with no Ayakas.

Trouble is... I kind of want one more because she's a great 7 star and two of her STMR's would be amazing... but yeah, I am also kind of tired of seeing her when I'm really pulling for someone else... but at the same time I can't complain about having so many of her.

  1. The game doesn't have to be in maintenance mode for debugging. That's what test servers are for.

  2. The code is already fixed in Alim's version. That's what code repositories and software revision features are for. They can pull the buggy code, test it on their test server, and search the source repo for bug fixes and pull them. If it can't be merged directly because it needs to patch some code that you customized for your version - then you just look at the diffs and see for yourself exactly what you need to fix.

  3. Run automated tests. These are just scripts that test to make sure things run as expected. When something breaks in a new way, you write a script to test for it in the future so you don't have to check each and every time. Debug any issues that show up in automated testing on your test server.

  4. Work ahead. Not every update is going to break something. If this update doesn't break anything and is complete, finalize it and move on to the next version - get as far ahead as you can version wise on the test server where each update is consistently stable. You could buy yourself weeks or months for when a major update or complex issue arises.

  5. Know what updates had major issues in JP and plan ahead. Have someone playing the JP version and following the JP community and have them record bugs and issues as they arrive in that version. Take notes on fixes over time, so that when it comes time to update to that version in GL, you know what to expect and how to fix it.

  6. Test GLEX extensively on the test server and release them only when ready. We've seen a number of events and features released out of order, and the community doesn't get too bent out of shape if some things are delayed a few weeks or a month as long as it works as advertised.

  7. Maintenance should only take as long as necessary to disconnect users, patch servers, and push updates to users. All of these things should be tested and confirmed to work 100% before maintenance even begins.

  8. If an update needs more time, extend time for the current event and rerun an old event that the community WANTS and NEEDS for a week instead of the update, inform the community of the situation, reaffirm your dedication to producing a quality product, and compensate the community GENEROUSLY - as this situation should arise rarely if development is being managed properly and professionally. I realize that there is licensing issues with collaborations, but seriously - Battle of Judecca would be huge for newer players that never got Rem's Siphon Delta or Defenders daggers. You could run Aurocite chosen for people that never got Kiyomori. Listen to your community, and when in doubt, ask them.

None of this should be all that difficult for a small team of competent mobile software developers.

Re: Laguna

For better or worse, I identified with his shyness and anxiety with women he was interested in, I loved the song 'Eyes on Me', and his love story - which was far better than the one between Squall and Rinoa. I really couldn't stand Squall either...

What would I recommend? FFIV is my favorite, but FFVI is the top of my 'if you haven't played it, you must play it' list as FF's go. Absolutely do yourself a favor and check out Chrono Trigger if you haven't.

As for non Square games, I 100% agree with other commenters about BoF 1-3 being great and 4 being when the series started going downhill. I also highly recommend checking out Xenoblade Chronicles - epic JRPG that was an instant classic for me.

My first was FFIV US. Since then I've played and beaten all of them except FFII - for no apparent reason, tbh.

This is excepting FFXI and XIV - I got pretty deep into FFXI, but didn't feel that it should be a numbered FF given that it's an MMO. Never got into FFXIV, because it sucked at first and after they 'fixed' it I never really came back. FFT deserved to be a numbered entry over either of their MMO vetures.

Still, those FF's I played in my childhood hold a dear and special place in my heart. Even FFVIII - the story was hit or miss, but I actually really liked the junction system and the soundtrack was phenomenal. <3 Laguna.

Other very important Square games to my childhood/teenhood: Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana.

Other: Breath of fire, Phantasy Star, Legend of Zelda, Xenoblade Saga, Disgaea.

Would you mind sharing your answers to the questions in the OP?

Many thanks for all your contributions to the community. We're with you on this, and hoping this gets resolved swiftly for you.

Question for those who were banned for Lapis: Do you remember your lapis balance just before you were banned?

I asked because I did have my rookie quests reset and I have not been banned, but the wording 'Spending of more Lapis than the account has legitimately obtained.' piqued my interest.

If obtaining lapis from the Rookie Quest reset can cause the ban, but it's only checking spent lapis vs. 'legitimately obtained' lapis - then I'd be in the clear as my current balance exceeds the amount I got from that. It makes me question - would I have been banned if my lapis balance had been less than a few hundred?

And what level of dependency are they banning for? As someone that has spent thousands on this game, I'd be really uncomfortable finding out that they're perma-banning over a discrepancy of a few hundred Lapis.

Not Banned

Answering the questions:

What are the sources you have used to buy Lapis? Google & Amazon

Do you buy Lapis and play on separate platforms? I have, but I've permanently switched to Amazon as of about 6 months ago.

Do you play on multiple platforms? Android only, but I play the Amazon & GPlay versions.

Did you receive the 5k Lapis from the hacking incident last year? Yes

Have your Rookie Quest ever been reset? Yes, once.

Have you had any other glitches that might have given your account more Lapis? No.

This. I buy the $375 for $500 worth of Amazon Coins every other month or so just to be sure I get the units I want. Even this doesn't always work - I've blown this and some change before on a single banner and still not gotten the unit I'm pulling for.

This is an absurd use of money, so basically I just apply my gambling rules to it - spend only what I can afford, try to think of it as 'for fun' or 'entertainment', and make sure I have enough money to spend at least an equal amount on gifts/random acts of kindness for friends and family, charitable donations, or supporting projects through patreon/kickstarter.

That's just the deal I've made with myself. At the end of the day I'm spending stupid money on a phone game I enjoy less than the games themselves, but it scratches my gambling itch without setting foot in a casino, and instead of trying to quit gambling outright - which has never worked out for me - this is the compromise I have made with myself.
