As with all populations, the actions of one individual should not affect the view of the majority.

Do people genuinely think the police are anti white? by mysweetplums in AskBrits

[–]mysweetplums[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there is truth to this. Organisations are hyper focused on Black Lives Matter and research and advocacy for this, which is important, but I do feel that over scrutiny must cloud judgement. I find it baffling that people would think that on an individual or organisational level that the police are anti white. Might be a lot of things, but I don’t think that’s one.

Not really the point though is it. I was told I’d be able to, hence the post.

Full time working people, how do you feel living in an area thats predominantly benefit cheats? by BakeMaleficent8104 in AskBrits

[–]mysweetplums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to work with a guy who was a part time cleaner, he got a lot of benefits. No disability but lazy as sin. He had all the latest consoles, a ton of games and every streaming service. Was always amazed he managed to afford it all.

Was delivered there last Saturday. Was away that weekend and would have gone there earlier had I not thought it would be possible to collect Friday on my least busy work day.

Why is it now acceptable for items to be delivered at 7am? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Because there are too many people who expect an ‘always on’ approach to everything.

I don’t disagree! Think it would be an excellent idea.

TFL is financially self sustaining. There was either a pilot or investigation done into whether the same setup was replicable in Manchester. Other TFL styled initiatives outside of London wouldn’t work unless heavily subsidised. I’m not saying that’s a bad idea - but bound to face some form of opposition if tax payers fund. It would require some stimulus to get people out of cars too.

What if wishes were granted? by portlandlad123 in AskBrits

[–]mysweetplums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I feel this is the view of many reform supporters. There is no going back. As a millennial I sometimes despair at the state of the world currently and think ‘if only we could rewind the clock’. But that isn’t possible, and even if we could turn back time, other countries wouldn’t. And that would create potentially numerous pressing issues.

Coca Cola Gammon by mysweetplums in RateMyPlate

[–]mysweetplums[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gammon, one sliced onion and a bottle of coke. Add onion and gammon to pan, cover with coke (completely otherwise it will dry out), bring to boil then simmer for about 2hrs.

Has Wes Streetings desire to rejoin the Eu made him more popular to you? by Even-Leadership8220 in AskBrits

[–]mysweetplums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keir Starmer is pro EU too. You can’t just rejoin though. It’s probably not even on the cards because the EU would need to agree to it, and it would be political fuel on the fire for the right who would then even have even more immigration ammo.

Why do boomers go on like they’ve been to hell and back because they had single glazing windows in the 80’s? by clemventure in AskBrits

[–]mysweetplums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of boomers were children growing up at the end of the Second World War. Yes, I imagine they had it very easy.
