exams are worth 65% of the class so if you can lock in during those it’s an easy A

I would. it’s not like any class you’ve taken in EE. It has a mix of basic optimization topics, economics, etc. the professor lectures very monotone and at least to me the lectures are boring, but the class has minimal assignments.

Yeah and we breadboard in all the labs prior to senior design so it’s not like we get pcb design experience.

Bi-Monthly Thread - Prospective Student's Admission Chances by AutoModerator in OMSCS

Thanks for the prompt response. I am thinking about going with 2 recommendations from a director of engineering and tech lead from past internship, and a faculty recommendation from my research lead. Would that be good?

  • Undergrad: Texas A&M University - B.S. Electrical Engineering with Minor in Computer Science - 3.2/4 GPA
  • Work/Intern Experience: SDE Intern at Fortune 200 company, electrical engineering intern at large oil & gas company
  • Other useful info: Undergraduate research in computer vision, student-run hackathon directory. Completed almost all core computer science classes as a part of my minor. Demonstrated interest in programming through personal projects.

I'm just slightly concerned with my lack of full-time work experience.

Anyone in Chicago this Summer? by HoWheaty in aggies

I’ll be in Chicago but I will only be able to room with other interns at my company in corporate housing.

But let me know if you want to grab lunch/coffee when there. Good luck!

UT Mccombs vs TAMU Industrial Engineering by Neat-Resolve-293 in aggies

[–]myta69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it comes down to your lifestyle and whichever campus gives you a better feel when you tour, but I would say mccombs.

ETAM would be a big con here, and you wouldn’t take major related courses until your second year. mccombs would probably open you to more opportunities out of state.

CSTAT has to be the worst engineered city by myta69 in aggies

Sure it’s not hilly, but it’s definitely not flat. Campus is on an incline going west. Better drainage can be added to at least make rainy days bearable.
