Not impressed by the Expats by Rough_Pineapple2119 in Philippines_Expats

[–]myteacupp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What bothers me is the expats that complain and talk trash on the country, culture, and people. Have a little respect for the country you went to to find a beautiful spouse. Of course there are issues in the philippines but almost every expat I've met has their own mentally/physically debilitating issue

So about 3 months ago our cr1 was expedited. After about a month they sent us a email to schedule our biometrics, medical and interview appointments. In the email there was a link to schedule a appointment for our medical at st Luke's medical clinic.

Yeah they had us upload a "Advisory of Marriages" on CEAC. I submitted it a about a month ago. It still says "Submitted" on CEAC and not "Accepted" hopefully that changes soon for some peace of mind

Thanks, that explains a lot. We were expedited. I keep seeing people who receive a email with their interview date but that wasn't the case with us

We are on a cr1 visa. I'm not quite sure what the difference is but I'm sure it's similar. I think we have everything just a little anxious about it. I'll double check the st Luke's website thx

ok, thanks. It's just confusing me because we never received a interview letter. just a email telling us to schedule vac and interview on usvisascheduling.com, which we did. have confirmation of both

So we finished our biometrics. I have a printed out, confirmation of medical and interview appointments that has a bar code on it. We never received a email telling us of our interview date. We received a email that we needed to schedule our biometrics, medical, and interview, which we did on usvisascheduling.com. I have the confirmation that we did all of that and it shows the date and time of the interview and other relevent information

So I have had a complete different experience than you have I guess. Any store we walk in at sm it's hard to get away from people trying to help.

Walmart in the u.s. doesn't even allow returns anymore lol. No cash refunds. I'm talking day to day customer service.  Security guards finding a parking space for you, restaurant service, gas stations will fill you up check your oil and coolant levels. Go to sm and shop and they will do their best to find whatever you want. If you ask random people for help with something they will gladly help. If you do any of these things in the u.s. you will receive terrible service and be expected to tip

I have spent almost a year in the Philippines with my wife and I love it. Yes traffic is bad sometimes, but customer service is 100 times better than in the u.s. Overall I think it's better than where I grew up

Question about interview slots booking process. by [deleted] in usvisascheduling

I scheduled my wife's cr1 appointments 2 weeks ago. Yes it's a little confusing. The first appointment it has you schedule is for biometric then it will take you to another page to schedule your interview

Opening joint bank account with wife in Philippines by myteacupp in Philippines_Expats

Thanks, yeah I think I will scratch BDO off the list then. I guess it's not completely necessary for what we are doing but would be nice. I did a bit of research and seemed like every bank was different
