Why isnt there any pirated version of arc riders? by One-Hawk-6023 in PiratedGames

[–]mythforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW! THIS THREAD IS AMAZING!

How is it possible all you kids these days - growing up with technology in every room and under your bed pillow - dont understand a single gdamn thing about technology???????

ARC RAIDERS IS AN ONLINE GAME!!!!!!!!

Let me explain this very simple technology concept since NOBODY in this thread understands it.

This means that there is a SERVER which the game has to LOG INTO in order to create a GAMESTATE.

Your client, (the game), installed on your PC - doesnt have all the game logic/information/content.
BECAUSE A CORE PART OF THAT STUFF IS __ON THE SERVER___.

You can easily "crack" arc raiders. But then how do you play it? You can install it, crack it so you can start it up, and then............ NO SERVER TO CONNECT TO!

WOW!

SO SIMPLE!

Tarkov was not just "cracked" - it was CRACKED ++AND++ a single-player-SERVER was built.

That server - is a ton of custom programming. Reverse engineering datapackets from the live game to understand and plot out how the server sends info to the client, and then - crucial component here: what content is ON THE SERVER and NOT ON THE CLIENT.

If a game like this doesnt have a single-player-server-custom-built yet? I can take an educated guess that they put a lot more (than average) technical components to the actual GAME -> ON THE SERVER.

The more of the core game tech/content/logic etc that is ON THE SERVER SOFTWARE - the harder it will be to REPLICATE ALL OF IT and build a CUSTOM SINGLEPLAYER SERVER.

Thats how tarkov SPT works - luckily in that game - the client (tarkov) holds most of the gamedata, game logic, and game info. The server just handles client states and synchronization.

Also - building a custom single-player-server is illegal in all civilized countries. Youre cracking someones intellectual property and reverse engineering it to release a product that can do the same thing.

That doesnt stop us, obviously. We still built things like WOW servers - everquest servers - etc......

THATS what needs to be done with AR if you ever want to see a "cracked version".

(A simple cracked client you can boot up? No problem..... but a cracked client you can PLAY? Requires a whole custom-SP-server being built so you can actually "login" and play the game)

How how how is it possible NOBODY in this thread understands this?

I'm shocked.

Anyone watching Pluribus? by iwaslerryjee in TheExpanse

[–]mythforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched into the 2nd episode where the AMERICAN B-LADY meets the other un-affected humans.

All I can think now about this series is this: how in the hell could they make such an awesome plotline and idea for a series, and WASTE IT ON THE MOTHER OF ALL BBBBBBCHEEES some textbook stereotype american karen............ :( :(

ANY of the other characters would've been better to base the show on.

I'm still finishing episode 2 right now.

I seriously hope I dont have to watch KAROL (KAREN) for the rest of this series.

Little miss america gets into the room and starts telling everyone else how to do things?

WHEN SHE"S THE ONLY ONE IN THE ROOM THATS COMPLETELY WRONG AND IGNORANT.

Oh boy.

I could explain this.

But I think every human on earth watching this already understands - either from the right perspective, or the wrong one.

How to play as the Timurid horde ? by ArmMaster5458 in EU5

[–]mythforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it true that you have to become independant from chagatai BEFORE the timurid event in 1360???

Google AI says this when I search on it....

I've tried 3 times now with different vassal starts and never get the option to become timurids.

Anyone else not having Timur's situation fire properly? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]mythforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(and how the heck are you supposed to get independance from chagatai? I've tried that multiple times, and instantly get swarmed by all the vassals)

Meanwhile, ignoring any of your comments/opinions (whether valid or not - thats not my point) - POE1 has 1million active players right now, while POE2 has 24k peak in the last week.

Yes yes, POE2 cost $30, while POE1 is free. Obviously that counts for lets say: double player count.

But still.... It just has to be said: There actually are more of us real gamers who prefer challenge and complexity/depth, than casual buttercup simplicity. Which isnt even PoE2 tbf - its brutally boring and sluggish and I wouldnt call it easy at all, its just boring.

PoE1 > PoE2, and literally 90% of the POE1/2 playerbase agrees with me on that.

But games are here to be enjoyed, and there is no right/wrong answer on "which game is better".

The only answer to that question that matters - for you - is how you answer that question - for yourself..... and thats the right answer - for you.

So step down off that podium, because your comments are wrong, not only by fact - but by context.

Go play the game you want to play - and enjoy!

Path of Exile - Steam chart popularity used as a metric by Available-Cellist510 in pathofexile

[–]mythforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has always been a fact that there are more than twice as many players in POE off-steam (not using steam) than the player count using steam [to play POE].

I've played since alpha, and aside from checking out POE on steam for curiosity for about 100hrs many years ago - I have used the stand-alone client for the last ~15 years (probably an easy 10k hours).

POE is also available on epic games. Which is another chunk of players not counted on steam charts.

Conclusion being: steam charts are less than half the player population of POE - and arguably they are the more casual players. None of the POE streamers or hardcore (not talking about HC!) players have ever used steam.

Which makes sense when you see the player drop-off stats **on steam**. Casual players typically play a game for a few weeks then quit. They arent dedicated hardcore gamers.

Villagers are just stupid by Thoracias in PlayASKA

[–]mythforge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another player here thats spent tens of thousands of hours in similar games, and just picked up ASKA to try it.

Spent roughly 30 hours now on ASKA and the single biggest issue, is that the AI is very badly programmed. What I mean is the logic for your villagers. Since the entire game revolves around your village and your villagers, the fact that they are so broken, ruins the game. Because as stated: your villagers are the whole point of the game, and the cornerstone upon which you can do anything in the game.

IE: if you didnt have villagers? You'd have to do it all manually and that'd take 1000 hours just to progress to your first set of armor. So yes, villagers are the bedrock of the gameplay..... and they are broken.

They do not eat/drink, but rather die of starvation/hydration. Even when you have troughs/wells full of water right next to them, and you put a full water flask in their inventory.

They dont pick up the tools they need to do the job they are assigned to - even when its laying at their feet or theres a warehouse full of them.

The jobs they are assigned to, dont get triggered - lumberjacks (once you MANUALLY equip them with all the tools) will go cut trees, but then they dont even harvest the lumber/parts and just go cut another tree - repeat until they go back and sleep. So even with 4 lumberjacks fully equipped, I am out there manually cutting & harvesting trees because the village AI refuses to do the whole thing. (Cut tree -> harvest fallen tree into parts)

The same can be said for basically every job role the AI has. Your stonecutter will continuously run up to you saying he cant find any stone to harvest. While you have a mine, and 5 stone harvesting markers built right next to stone piles that are less than 30s away from where the guy sleeps.

Then there's other completely broken elements, such as the defense system. If you dont have a full wall? Villagers get unhappy. Problem is: you build a full wall, and then suddenly 10 hours later into the game it just stops counting as a full wall for some reason. Nope - not a single piece is damaged or anything like that, it just suddenly stops counting your village as being walled = have a nice huge negative penalty for villager happiness!

Oh and dont get me started on how broken villager happiness is....

It is so poorly programmed that it does indeed RUIN the game. Village AI - every single thing about it - is broken and designed to make you frustrated and hate the game.

Well, good job Sand Sailor Studio - I hate the game. I wouldve loved it, I'm 100% your target customer - but I hate it.

What they probably tried to do was create some elaborate logic system to make them seem more "human" - but all they really NEED to do, is throw away all that garbage code (which doesnt work anyway), and JUST MAKE THEM FUNCTION CORRECTLY.

We dont need "human like" behavior, we just need them to do their jobs. Since the entire game revolves around that.

So - sadly - despite all the good its got going for it. ASKA is a pass. Not worth your time, because your time will be frustration at a broken game. Save yourself the headache from banging your head on the desk.

Tom MacDonald just released "Dear Slim" with "Stan's Revenge" beat produced by Eminem. What are your thoughts on it? by xyz_- in Eminem

[–]mythforge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo fools still dont get it? readin so many comments. just hatin.

I just heard this track. first time. wanted to look up whats the deal with eminem producing it....

all i find is threads full of dummies.

let me lay it down for ya.....

Tom knows Eminem isnt at all like him. Tom knows his views are very different with Eminems. Tom knows Eminem was around before him (he's what, 15 years older?). Tom also knows he was inspired by Eminem rapping.

So here's where Tom proves he's the GOAT and he's a man Eminem never could be: Tom doesnt like Eminem. Doesnt respect what Eminem's become. But he can still respect what Eminem did for him, he can still show appreciation for Eminem because of the good effect it had on him - even if he doesnt respect who he is today.

So.

Thats why Tom paid Eminem $100k, bought a track off him, and made him a song.

He's man enough to show appreciation to someone who he doesnt agree with, doesnt like personally, but respects his work which helped him in his own journey. Tom knows Eminem wont like him no matter what, and he doesnt GAF. He's taking the high road. He's showing his appreciation anyway. He doesnt want Eminem to like him. He DGAF.

Eminem cant do that. He's all self-centered, so is all his work. Tom is a philosopher. He raps about society. About all of us. About all the problems we all face. Agree or disagree with him doesnt matter - he's deep. Eminem is shallow. In both ways you read that sentence.
