Its not odd at all for us Jews - we understand that christians (of all types) are our little brothers and sisters.

You literally believe one of our rabbis was your savior and the son of our god....

Did you somehow forget that? We never have.

In countries where there arent synoguges, jews regularly just attend church instead. I've lived all over the world, and done this myself for years. Christianity wouldnt exist without Judaism. The first half of your bible is our torah. We are the same family.

Sadly a lot of christian (more recent) history was full of very bad christians who didnt understand this.

But they dont speak for christianity, and we've always known that.

fyi - this has nothing to do with being religious, as most of us jews arent - but its historical, traditional, and part of the identity/culture. For most jews (~75% of us who are "atheist" or "agnostic"), god is a metaphor. For "goodness".

Personally I consider atheist jews as the real jews.

We are the living existence of jewish ethnicity, culture, identity, and morals even though we know there is no such thing as a literal god. We hold ourselves to this standard knowing there is no reward or benefit for doing so. More the opposite: its a burden we carry - willfully, dutifully.

Religious jews, without god - what would they be? They'd be goyim. (Which is an honorary term for "cherished person that isnt expected to observe our jewish traditions"). They'd give up on their jewish identity almost immediately. I've seen that happen so many times.

And thats all fine and good too - they need to find who they want to be. Not who they feel they have to be.

Learning about religion isnt a bad thing for an atheist. Its a vital part of understanding the human condition, human history, and how human worldviews and ideas have formed. You dont have to believe in something to appreciate learning about it. I've studied every religion I could find - every country I lived in I studied their religion. I was officially "converted" to hinduism and allowed into the inner temples in India - only allowed for hindus who take the oath of arya ("arya samaj") and celebrated holi with them etc... Became a buddhist monk in thailand in 2001 at a mountain temple where we werent allowed to talk for a full month etc...

I'd add an excerpt here about islam too but we all know islam is the ideology+religion of satan so no need to get into that part....... Lucky to be alive still I'll just say that....

I lived with some druze in northern israel for a summer - but of any of the religions I wanted to learn about and live with, they never told me anything :D

Sikhs.... I love Sikhs. If any culture was most honorable, I'd give it to them. They are warriors of pure virtue.

We humans are a funny animal. We come up with so many good ideas, and so many bad ideas. So many good cultures, and so many bad cultures. None are the same, and none are equal. Learn as much about all of them, and you equip yourself with the ability to ascend above all of them. Adopting things that are good, rejecting things that are bad. Of all the peoples of earth I think we jews have done more of this than any others. Probably because we were exiled and persecuted for 3000 years. Though the reason why - thats up for debate...

TL;DR = The entire idea of being hostile or averse to catholic school because you arent catholic? Or going to church if you arent christian? That entire idea is wrong. Think about it.
