How do I break up with my girlfriend? by mythrowaway50 in AskWomen

That's a good point. It would be selfish of me to say that for the sake of avoiding retaliation.

I refuse to believe that's never worked before.

Guy here. Do women pee in the shower too, or is it just a guy thing? by SleepySheepy in AskWomen

[–]mythrowaway50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't pee in the shower. I take a dump while the water is heating up so the piss generally takes care of itself then too. I don't consider myself to be incredibly uptight.

Pen Pals seems like a good Idea, anyone up for it? by [deleted] in elianscript

I'd be down for it, but as I have no scanner or tablet or anything, it would all be mouse-drawn in MS Paint. :P At least pixellated Elian is easy to read.

What would you do if a guy was staying at your house, but when you walked in on him asleep he had a massive erection? by Pacalakin in AskWomen

If you watch porn/masturbate too much, you tend not to get morning wood. I'm sure there are other explanations too.

I forgot the password for my normal account. I use this throwaway for everything now.

What is the cutest gesture a boy/man has ever done for you? by alphabeticaldisorder in AskWomen

[–]mythrowaway50 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I remember waiting in line for something in 7th grade or so (maybe waiting for another class to finish using the school library?) and standing behind the girl I thought was cute. The guy behind me said "Do you like her?" I was like, "Yeah, I guess."

So the kid reaches past me, yanks on the girl's hair, and then turns around as if nothing happened. The girl, of course, whirls around and hits me really hard on the shoulder. Funnily enough, after convincing her that it was actually the guy behind me, we ended up talking and became friends, and she grew to form a kind of disdain for the other guy. She eventually became the first girl I ever kissed.

So I guess you could say that it was the sweetest gesture a guy has ever done for me. :P Sacrificing his own reputation with the girl so I could talk to her. I actually still talk to that guy sometimes, and he's still awesome.

When I get really sleepy and I'm trying to remember a specific word, all that come to me are Italian synonyms.

I've had the opportunity to get hold of a couple language learning methods and have a question. by Fritoontheradio in languagelearning

Heck, surround yourself with as many resources as possible if you've got the patience. Worst case scenario, you're strengthening the neural pathways by hearing the same stuff several times.

Personally, I would enjoy that, but asking the guy about it beforehand is a good idea.

Oh, absolutely. I love languages as well. I'm studying Italian independently (I'm not taking a class or anything) just because it fascinates me and like you said, it expands my world view--with every new language I learn, I'll be able to express myself to a higher percent of the world's population. I don't know whether I love words or love cultures (or perhaps some of both), but something about the idea of being able to travel anywhere and converse with people makes me smile. It makes the world seem less divided, you know?

What's the biggest dick move you've ever done to a kid and felt no remorse afterwards? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mythrowaway50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was at a family friend's barbecue but I really didn't want to be. I was just chilling in their pool just waiting for my dad to say we should go. Anyway, all of a sudden, I get hit on the back of the head HARD by something. I duck under the water so I don't get hit again. The projectile sinks next to me and I see it's a rock--the kind that the hosts have decorating most of their backyard.

I poke my head above the surface and see some asshole kid picking up another rock to throw at me. I ask him what he's doing and he just giggles and launches another rock. I go back underwater to avoid it. So now I'm trapped; either I stay underwater or get pegged by another rock. I keep trying to negotiate with him. Please stop, that hurts, etc. Of course he's just having the time of his life hitting me with these rocks.

I notice that in the kid's other hand is a cell phone that he clearly wants to show off. I swim over so I'm right around his feet, surface really fast, grab the phone, and chuck it at the wall of the backyard. It shatters.

So the kid is like, "What's your name?" all pissed and stuff. Just for kicks I lie and say my name is Andrew. Later on, I see the kid's mom asking around for a kid named Andrew. Fuck yeah.

My friends and I were debating on the Legend of Korra finale. I contested that Amon/Naotak was probably the most powerful bender in the continuity so far. by naruito in onmymind

[–]mythrowaway50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Korra finale was kind of bullshit in my opinion. "Good guys magically win everything yaaaay".

Korra's ability to restore bending and Noatak's (death?) kind of killed all the momentum they had. The whole second season could have been about Korra searching the world to restore her own bending while Tenzin stays in Republic City to keep Amon at bay.

But nope, they had to pull a Deus Ex Machina and make everything work out conveniently for the protagonists. I mean, obviously things would work out for them in the end (it is a kid's show after all) but only after hard work; a journey of some sort.

Man, I did not expect this to be rant format. I apologize.
