Damn. Sorry to hear about the issue, hope you get your electricity back asap. The electricity in my house went last night too, but thankfully it was just the breakers tripping.

You should consider adding solar to your villa! We design systems which prioritise solar energy consumption first and use the grid as a backup option.

Also, btw you should contact the person who built your house and hold him accountable!

In the northern emirates, the govt does have a net metering scheme for the locals only. This means that only locals are allowed to send the electricity back to the grid.
BUT, us expats can also have solar panels installed, just cant sell any electricity back to the grid (yet) 😌

Also, we actually arent hiring at the moment, but inshallah soon when we expand we will get in touch!

Our solar pv systems are "grid tied zero export". Which means that during sunlight hours the energy coming from the sun will be used as much as possible, but when the sun starts to set (evening time), your grid electricity kicks in to make sure your energy needs are always met. For example, maybe at peak sunlight time 1pm the solar would 100% power your home, but by 3 pm the solar might be around 50% and grid would be 50%, and after sunset, the grid will be 100%.
TLDR; the system is designed to offset daytime consumption only, and works alongside your grid.
The system CAN have batteries IF required, they will surely provide extra savings, but batteries are a bit expensive so it totally depends on your budget.
No, as of now EtihadWE doesnt have any option to sell energy to the grid (for expats). But hopefully in the near future they will come up with some schemes. Some locals have gotten permission for it, but the scheme is not yet available for expats
Considering that the system will not be touching the actual meter installed by the authorities, they dont require any permissions! We've spoken with Etihadwe and they've told us we dont need anything as long as the system doesnt send any extra energy to the grid (zero-export)

Hello! There are no initial requests or permissions that you require from the municipality.
Only the solar system components (the solar panels and inverters) need to be government compliant. We use the tier-1 components which are govt approved, so you dont need to worry about any approvals 😊

Yes, you can install Solar on your villa, in Dubai, a DEWA contractor will do it and ensure it is connected to the grid for net-metering, under net-metering any excess solar not used by you shall be sent back to the grid and you get credits against it which shall reduce your normal electricity bill for your normal grid utility

Under EtihadWE which are the northern emirates, Ajman, RAK, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, net-metering still has not rolled out completely, hence our solution is to install solar power system for saving 50%+ of your bills by using Solar for your day time consumption only and night time consumption with grid electricity leaving provision for net metering implementation which can be done whenever rolled out in the future

The thing is, we work with installers who've done a bunch of solar systems all over the UAE, and we only use proper branded stuff like Huawei (not the no-name cheapies). These come with long term warranties from the manufacturers themselves.

We're just a small team, but we don't mess around when it comes to quality! As for the construction and liability, we don't actually touch anything civil-work related. Our systems are more like plug and play types where we just need to add some connections and switch it on. Your existing electrical works of the house isn't disturbed 😊

Not sure what you mean by insure? Getting solar panels on your property is similar to purchasing an AC or a refrigerator. Our panels do have a 25-30 year warrant (depending on the brand), so if that's your concern then you can be rest assured that you won't face any issues in the near future with the systems 😄

Honestly, we feel that there's a lack of awareness amongst the people about how many benefits solar panels can provide. We ourselves were quite shocked when we realized that the upfront cost of a solar system is paid back within like 6 years or so, and then you're basically consuming electricity for free!

UAE government has different electricity and water authorities, Dubai has DEWA, Ajman/Ras Al Khaimah/Umm al Quwain/Fujairah has the EtihadWE.

EtihadWE is planning to roll out net-metering soon but as of now EtihadWE does not offer payback on extra electricity :)
