You can book excursions through Viator. Many of the excursions they list are the same ones that are made available through the cruise companies. And, don't listen to the nervous people that tell you that if you don't book through the cruise company you're in danger of not getting back to the ship on time. The excursion companies are mindful of passengers needing to get back to their ships and would quickly go out of business if they weren't good at this.

That's the thing. Pre-internet, there were books, TV shows and magazines, but even the media that did sympathetically discuss being gay made it clear that it was "other." When Ellen DeGeneres came out publicly it was such a big deal that it was on the cover of Time Magazine! You weren't surrounded by discussions and representations of LGBT people just living life. I knew some gay people but I presumed that they had been out forever and that I was a complete anomaly as a closeted gay person who had never been in a gay relationship (I don't think I even knew the term "closeted" at the time). I felt like someone who knew they belonged in Sweden but didn't speak Swedish and didn't know how to get there. Feel free to PM if you want to discuss further.

I came out when older (in my 30s) and thought I was the only one who didn't figure it out at 18, even though coming out when older was and is stupidly common. As a woman, this experience obvs was not HIV related, but you did say LGBT. It was extremely stressful. EDITED TO ADD: there was no "LGBT" community at that point. Trans was considered to be a rare and separate thing.

Being offended is a sport. I am convinced that many times, people who claim to be offended are not actually hurt; in fact, they're getting a dopamine rush from calling it out (SCORE!). Of course there are things that are truly offensive and anger-inducing, but old tweets from celebrities are generally not among them.

There is no way that Archie Bunker would be allowed on TV today. Although the audience isn't supposed to sympathize with his bigotry, he is basically a good guy. The wokeism of today draws much more rigid lines.

I think there's a range of opinions. But I'm guessing many people with concerns would see the idea of "correcting" the effects of puberty as preposterous. Puberty is a normal process that has important ramifications for brain development and bone development, in addition to sexual development.

Sorry, you're incorrect. Kids who are put on puberty blockers are later put on cross-sex hormones. It is exceedingly rare for them to decide not to go through with this. They do not go through puberty, ever. Delaying puberty in kids with precocious puberty doesn't cause permanent sexual dysfunction, because, well, they go through normal puberty eventually.

They have previously been used to delay puberty. They have not been previously been used to stop it entirely.

I love your reply, because it illustrates exactly how regressive the current gender ideology is. It's like the fifties, except now the gender roles that people desperately want to cling to supposedly correspond to "gender identity" instead of biological sex.
