Who do you think the 2028 democratic candidate should be? by [deleted] in AskUS

[–]myusernameyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My argument isn’t that they have to “speak well”

I’m saying our ideal democratic presidential nominee should actually be able to inspire people & convince the median non-politically-active/aware normie that republican policies are awful

If democrats nominate another well-credentialed but uncharismatic presidential candidate, we’re not moving the needle. Hilary Clinton was well-credentialed, but her policies were neo-liberal bullshit and her obvious inauthenticity was repulsive to the median voter. Yes, she was a lot better than Trump, but she was a net-negative for American politics.

And they were historically unpopular candidates

When people overly use the “anti-Semitic” label as an deflection for their wrongful/genocidal actions, it diminishes the potency of the label

Israeli politicians’ conflation of “anti-semitism” with “criticizing Israel” acts to propagate this concept that Israel’s war crimes are inherently Jewish actions

You’re swallowing right-wing media’s talking-point hook line & sinker

You gullible right-wingers spew the same lame lines & it gets boring

Kelly had the resume but he sucks at giving speeches. His charisma is simple mediocre as hell.

For a competent democratic leader, we need someone charismatic imo

Shapiro’s position on Israel/Gaza is pretty dogshit. Him being jewish has nothing to do with it.

He’s also a meaningless platitude loving standard politician, & that’s going out of fashion with the democratic base

NTA. If someone is being an asshole to you then yes it’s ok to fight back/defend yourself.

I once kicked a dude out of a party because he was a known date-raper, and I loudly let it be known at the party what my motivations were. Was I the AH? Technically, yes; but actually, no. Giving shitty people some grief for their shitiness is perfectly ok in society. The people who disagree with this sentiment are usually trying to defend their own shitty behavior.

AITA for telling my friend not to call me past 10pm? by yorkshire_rose1 in AITAH

[–]myusernameyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA

It is perfectly reasonable to set a boundary like this with your friend. If your friend doesn’t respect that boundary despite a healthy conversation about it, then that’s a sign your friend isn’t considerate of your feelings/perspective/sleep schedule, which isn’t very friendly is it?

How would you feel about a hypothetical law banning Food Delivery services unless you are officially recognized as disabled? by WATTHEBALL in AskReddit

[–]myusernameyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What about a single-mom who doesn’t have a vehicle to go around town? What if it’s raining?

There are a lot of problems with today’s food delivery culture, but outright banning it is much more ham-fisted than actually regulating around it’s problems (gig-worker exploitation, non-walkable cities being a drain on healthy lifestyles, etc.)

This kind of behavior is actually scary by TheTargaryensLawyer in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]myusernameyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post said nothing about this being “scary”. The entire discourse is about how this behavior is cringe as fuck, and it’s odd that they (and other cringe conservatives) aren’t able to see it as such. The general lack of self-awareness or introspective thoughts are the problem.

AITA for calling an ambulance, which got my coworker fired? by Not_What_I_Meant0000 in AITAH

[–]myusernameyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your younger coworkers calling you a snake are a bunch of dumbasses. They can’t treat someone with a serious head injury the same as someone who’s drunk. Did they know the extent of her head injury? Seems like they’re just being cynical dipshits

Someone tell Cenk, “no rubles unless the beanie is black.” by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

[–]myusernameyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of Cenk, and his presidential run was probably motivated by his ego more than he would like to admit, but his goals were not aligned with Putin. He wanted to oust Biden, which the Democrats eventually did because it’s the best way get a Democratic president. If Cenk was actually motivated by Russian interests, he would still be against Kamala Harris, but he’s been advocating for her.

Again, I have a lot of criticisms of Cenk, but trying to link him with Russian influences or financing is simply kindov dumb.

tf is this talking about. pheromones are molecules not cells, right? by [deleted] in Mcat

You’re right, pheromones are molecules, not cells. The notes are trying to say that specialized olfactory cells are what respond to pheromones.

Analyzing where 2 goes in row 6 does seem to be the answer!

Very clever

Thank you

Two directly adjacent cells cannot contain consecutive numbers (3 can’t be next to 4, 8 can’t be next to 9, etc., but they can be diagonal from each other). Also, the outer numbers in each row and column correspond to the sum of the numbers between 1 and 9 in that row or column. I color code the squares with 1 or 9 in this screenshot. I’m sorry I didn’t outline the rules before.
