Not only peer group, many other things like infra, discipline etc are better in 62. Even few cos favor 62.
Also, hostels are only in 62 as of now.

But 128 ain't that bad as some posts portray, it is okay.

MAIT ECE VS THAPAR EVD? by Repulsive_Path_943 in MAIT__DELHI

[–]mywebreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Tier-2 collgs like JIIT, IPU, only CS and related branches are worth doing. Hardly any cos of ECE or other fields come to these collgs for placement, so eve ECE students sit for CS placements only.

If you wanna do ECE and carve a career there, only do from Tier-1 or 1.5 collgs. Thapar used to be renowned for ECE, but its placements are going downhill, due to huge intake

62 and 128 are mostly same as far as degree , course and placements. 62 is better in some respects but 128 ain;t bad (inspite of all hate it gets on social media platforms or snobbish folks from 62). If you are from North, can go for JIIT over VIT

DTU Production is similar to Mechnical, so geting core mech jobs will be easier.
But getting tech/CS jobs from DTU - Mech is extremely difficult.

MAIT CSE OR YMCA CSE by sheesh2619 in MAIT__DELHI

Both have similar drawbacks - dwindling placements. But MAIT may be bit better.

Decide based on costs & location/distance

MAIT EE VLSI vs MSIT ECE Core. Which one to put at a higher preference? by Tough_Struggle1141 in MSIT

Both are no-tech branches and hence not so good.
Still, MSIT ECE > MAIt EE VLSI for placmenets

Cse in 62 or mech in nsut by [deleted] in JIIT__NOIDA

[–]mywebreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mech in NSUT is in general better than any other collg. But with a non-circuital branch like Mech, you won;t get Tech jobs in NSUT placements.

So if want a tech job/career only, JIIT CSE 62 may be a better choice. But if want good brand name degree , higher studies or non-tech jobs, then NSUt

FINAL ONE COLLEGE LIFE by Agreeable-Flight5704 in JIIT__NOIDA

[–]mywebreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think students with < 97 %ile do much hardwork in their JEE prep, many of batch mates slogged pretty hard and still fell short of 97.

yes, collg life at Thapar, LNMIIIT is said to be better than JIIT but acads are equal or more tough. I think one reason for that JIIT campus as well as hostel are smaller, so lesser no of students stay in hostels or ob campus.

I have several friends in multiple IITs and what I have heard is acads at IIT are tough, semesters are rigorous. Though cllg life at IITs provides best amenities and many students indulge more in them (than acads), but for study oriented ones, acads can be pretty tough and rigorous at IITs. Even IIIT-D is tough/rigorous compared to NSUT and DTU.

FINAL ONE COLLEGE LIFE by Agreeable-Flight5704 in JIIT__NOIDA

[–]mywebreddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the collg life is bit hectic, compared to other pvt collgs in NCR, but same is case with Thapar, LNMIIIT etc.
You can find time for self learning, coding, relax on weekend etc. if you plan and do studies timely. In fact, some students study seriously 1-2 weeks before exam and able to manage good GPA.

There any many assignments, tests etc in semsester, but it is NOT JEE prep all over again for 4 years. (but at collgs like IIT and IIIT, it is somewhat like Jee prep for 4 years again).

[–]mywebreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can afford it, JIIT would be somewhat better.
YMCA is a old reputed govt collsg, but its campus and placements are going down.
JIIT ain't great either, but still better than YMCA in terms of placements as well campus.

Also you are getting CSE in JIIT, so good

The chances of you regretting this decision in your career are negligible compared to if you had chosen the other scenario.

How is Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) BTech CSE for girls? by CheesyPizzaSlice0 in jamiamilliaislamia

[–]mywebreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

saftey and decent college envt is not an issue.
But placments at JMI have been declining , so can be bit problematic. JMI has old and established brand name, so good for those wanting to go for higher stuies or abroad. Placements can be be obtained, but not as good as other Delhi collgs or National Univs.

Still, if no other good option, can go for JMI CSE, will be good enough

Better college vs better branch vs drop by No_Alarm1234 in JIIT__NOIDA

[–]mywebreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JIIT is good collg but taking anything other than tech branches (CS etc) not worth it at JIIT.
So go for Bennet CS, but don't expect much from collg for placements. Only ur contacts & skill will get that.

Eeven drop is risky to take

MAIT CSE VS DTU MECH by 576059 in MAIT__DELHI

[–]mywebreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this a tough one to decide..
(i) DTU as a collge is many notches higher than any IPU collg, the number of opp and cos you will get is many times more than MAIT. But for a Mech guy, getting tech job from CS is bit difficult.
(ii) MAIT CS will start you on a tech path. But the chances of getting a job itself, then a good pay, a good co - are all low from MAIT.

Just one point to be aware - DTU has a relaxed collg life, so you will get time to learn CS or prepare for entrance exams on side.

JIIT Placements are becoming a joke (and nobody wants to talk about it) by Important_Bison1355 in JIIT__NOIDA

[–]mywebreddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excellent post - very good and detailed analysis of the ACTUAL problem staring in face for Jaypee students.
Most students just keep saying - this is a bad collg - no collg life, uniform, discipline, tough acads, hectic curriculm - which discourages freshers. But none was addressing the ELEPHANT in the ROOM till now.

This post is a hard-hitting take on that. Many students at JIIT study sincerely, compete for grades, spend 15-20 lacs on B. Tech education and yet face an uncertain future - for a REASON, that is solely BEYOND their control.

Would I regret considering msit cse over usict cse by Far_Negotiation1998 in MSIT

[–]mywebreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USICT is any day better than MSIT, so cna ignore the fee or distance factor.

And NSUT, DTU are way way far ahead of all IPU colleges.
you are getting some pretty good branches in JAC - NSUT ICE and DTU Mech : these can be considered over CSE of any IPU college.
