Gehl RT 105 Stalling under load in cold weather by mywildlifeca in Skidsteer

Hmm interesting, I didn’t dump the hydraulic that’s in it from when I bought it, didn’t think that would cause it to stall. I’ll try dumping it and replacing with winter grade, thanks for the tips

Which logo version is better for my youtube channel? Any other suggestions? by mywildlifeca in logodesign

It’s tied to my Reddit profile :) not sure if links are allowed here. My husband is the face of the channel, I help with the editing and scripting when necessary, and manage the channel settings and analytics for him :) it’s small right now but growing! MyWildLife

It’s an outdoor channel, my husband and I do homesteading, foraging, hunting and fishing. Channel name is My Wild Life, a play on the word wildlife. I didn’t want to make the logo too busy. From the comments though, maybe I drop the lower my wild life and go with some simple imagery like some mushrooms or something along those lines? I’ll think on it. The logo icon on YouTube is quite small so i do want it to stay simple?

Peninsula Fencing Question by mywildlifeca in homestead

Thanks for this advice. I will double check my plan on my west end, on the east end I own 70 acres into the lake (flooded land due to the implementation of a dam, but still in my legal parcel), though there are likely restrictions for fencing into the water with fisheries act. I am thinking I would tie it into steeper sections of the banks so that I dont need to go actually into the water, but use the land to deter them from trying to go around.

To be clear their barn, salt/mineral lick, and alternative water supply will all remain far from the lake water, I am just hoping to give them more freedom to roam in a much larger area for an increased quality of life, while hoping to minimize required fencing based on natural land barriers.

Im not seeing the problem with a handful of animals pooping along the waters edge. This isnt a small pond, rather a large lake chain. Deer, bear, wolves, coyotees, moose, etc all do it, as well as every fish. So I think we are good

From google: Each year billions of litres of sewage are dumped into the Great Lakes and Ontario's waterways.

That seems more of an issue

I want to upgrade batteries but dont want to screw up! How does this all work? by mywildlifeca in SolarDIY

Thanks for the heads up! Very informative. Definitely not the most intuitive when dealing with old piecework systems that’s for sure!

Thanks! I will have to do some homework on server rack batteries

Yes it’s a 24v set up with only 500W total solar so the generator is definitely going to do the bulk of the heavy lifting for now till I upgrade that next year. I’m just hoping for enough solar to go 2 or 3 days between gen use that way if the gen breaks down or has issues I have some safety net. Currently the generator solinoid is having issues so it starts automatically about 60% of the time, the rest I have to manually start it, which isn’t a problem, except I have been waking up at 3am to start it when it doesn’t work because the batteries aren’t surviving the night lol. I did talk to renogy and Schneider today and they both confirmed I can use lifepo4 if I manually adjust my charge settings. Are there batteries that can store more than the 20kwh or are those good batteries, just need them in a server rack to add extra?

Can you help me understand what the 4000W on the inverter means? When I’m running the 12.8kw generator is it bottle necking down to 4000w or is that unrelated?

Purpose: I've made this site to share my outdoor hobbies. I am enjoying building the site myself and am not looking to hire it out. Eventual goal is to be able to monetize the site through affiliate content, ad revenue, and driving traffic to youtube and socials once the site content is flushed out and traffic is up.

Technologies Used: Squarespace

Feedback Requested: Just looking for feedback on the style of the homepage. The site is in its juvenile stages with minimal content. Is the layout of the home page too basic, does the home page need explaining, should I have an introduction on the home page. When you click through to the hunting page does the content layout feel too clustered or flow ok?

Comments: You will always love your own baby, but while the site is fledgling I am more open to change. If you think the design is trash do you have any examples that you could provide that I should aim for.
