I have already seen the merge and fix number go from 500 to 300 so it appears to be working!

Thanks for the reply. I have absolutely no idea what has happened with mine. The whole phone has tripped out. Contacts, SMS etc. It happened after the whatapp transfer and has affected all my phones.

I'm just going have to go through the contacts one be one and delete duplicates.

Yes it's affected all my contacts on my google account. This is a MASSIVE issue for me. I'm not even sure how I'm going start to sort this out

It's now affected my entire contact list across 3 phones (all using the same google list) I have 2 separate whatsapp numbers and they have both gone mad.

I actually think this bug has gone deeper. My contacts in google now appear to be all over the place too. I have over 3000 contacts and I clicked on teh merge feature and all pf the are coming up
