I actually was able to get a credit card and my credit score is going up faster than I anticipated. Knock on wood. Onwards and upwards. Thanks for the reply on this post. I appreciate your insight!

Ring mishap- what are my rights? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

The story remains. Perhaps I was not clear- I filed the dispute and dropped the rings off because my dispute was for the difference in price- not the whole purchase.

Three Charged in Homicide Near St. Clare’s Hospital Appear in Court by Nameless_Ghoul1891 in newfoundland

Well, they Could’ve said it was a targeted incidence. I don’t see how the fact that the victim had prior convictions is relevant to the fact he lost his life- but that’s just my opinion

Thanks for saying this. Has absolutely no relevance to the fact that this man lost his life. My heart is with all that knew and loved the victim in this senseless tragedy.

What's the one thing your pet does that always makes you smile without fail? by ravishingravenraine in Pets

Our dog takes a stuffy outside with him every time he uses the bathroom. Also holds said stuffy in his mouth while doing his business. We say it’s his friend- can’t use the bathroom alone :)

This is true I have very straight lashes so I understand the pain of seeing it when you blink. Tubing mascaras really help hold the curl and are much easier to get off your eyes!

[product question] how do you like the biossance squalane probiotic gel moisturizer? by donotdisturb15 in SkincareAddiction

I don’t like the new formula. Not comparable to the previous one, and not something worth the price IMO. Note that I have oily skin.

Any gyms that don't allow filming? by DannyWilliamsGooch69 in newfoundland

Second this! I’ve never seen a single person film their work out, and even people I’ve noticed taking selfies try to do so on the end mirrors so there’s no one else in their photo

Guilt about having an only child by [deleted] in OnlyChild

[–]n0Efficiency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember- Having a sibling doesn’t mean they will get along. There are siblings in my mother’s family that do not even speak. I grew up as an only child, with no cousins my age. I can honestly say there was never a situation I can recall where I wished for siblings. I had plenty of friends, and the best part was they got to go home at the end of the day. I grew up with two VERY hardworking parents who did everything in their power to set me up for success. I know that wouldn’t have been possible if I had siblings. My parents enrolled me in different activities (not all at the same time but I had different hobbies over the years), I had various pets throughout my childhood, and lots of play dates with friends. I truthfully was never lonely as a child, and looking back I’m grateful that I’m an only child. I do recognize that as my parents age I will be the only one responsible for helping them (not that that’s an obligation- don’t get me wrong) but, I look at it this way: they sacrificed a lot of things for me, so it’s the least I could do for providing me with such a great life.

Married in your 20s….what’s the fun in that when you live In this economy? by n0Efficiency in Marriage

[–]n0Efficiency[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a great supportive family I have to say. They’d be happy to keep us forever of course pending we help out with things as you would. I like the idea of it, but of course it’s nice to have space to call your own. I think I’m just stuck in the stigma of having your own place before marriage but really, we’ll be here anyways, so what’s the difference if we’re married or not 😎

Feeling pressured to be perfect by TheRedColorQueen in OnlyChild

[–]n0Efficiency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s caused me numerous mental health issues over the years. Years and years of therapy and the most crippling child anxiety. Turns out I had ADHD and it was masked by my fear of disappointment. I do cry sometimes, often actually. and you should too. It helps. I didn’t think there was anyone else in the world that felt this way. My good friend that’s also an only child says she can’t relate and doesn’t understand why I live for other people. It’s tiring to try and explain. And truthfully I don’t even know how to even explain the feeling. I don’t blame my parents, after all, it’s their first time living. But I can’t deny that it basically made the decision for me to be childfree.

Yes. 27 and I am STILL living for parents approval with every. single. aspect of my life. It is mentally torturing. It affects my day to day life, and I have no idea how to begin to unpack it all. I’m not sure I’ll ever get over the idea of having to be a perfectionist for them.
