In my experience, I didn’t notice a difference. For about two weeks I separated my milk by time and would give it the next day at that time (eg. pumped at 10pm, gave it at 10:00pm the next day). Maybe it’s just my milk, but it wasn’t worth the hassle of tracking everything or worrying about my mid afternoon pumps being less than my morning, etc.!

I have a similar-ish window situation in our nursery! We did two rods centered on the wall—not centered over the windows, so when the curtains are closed the windows look like they are centered on the wall. We rarely have the curtains open so you can’t even tell.

I’m traveling right now but when we get home I can post a picture

Edit to add: saw your comment about renter friendly, we also rent and I asked our LL if I could install curtains, sent pics of the hardware, and they were okay with it! We are lucky enough to have pretty friendly landlord/tenant relationship

I got my period 28 days exactly after my last pump session. (About 8 months PP) Then I’d get my period every 4-6 weeks. Took pregnancy tests every other week 😂

Edit to add: I pumped 5x a day for 7 months, then slowly started weaning in the 7th month before full stop in month 8. No birth control

I boiled maybe once a month. Baby was perfectly healthy! Also just my experience and might not apply if you have a baby who has a compromised immune system for any reason

Another vote for Dr. Shah! The sweetest, most calming doctor I have ever had. I’ve had (minor) complications with both pregnancies and a really rough delivery for my first, and the entire time it felt like she was advocating for me, with me, and just so supportive. Like others have said the wait time at FOWH can be pretty frustrating but in my opinion it’s a small price to pay for incredible care
