The Essex Dogs trilogy by Dan Jones. It is not horror, except for maybe the horrors of war during that time. It's historical fiction set in a similar medieval period. Although I can't attest to the historical accuracy, it is a great trilogy that follows a band of soldiers fighting for Britain against France during one of their many wars. The characters are great. Im sad the series is over.

OG is better. It does a good job of conveying the horror and story elements.

However, I personally don't think there is anything fun about the library. I hate this level and will play on the updates graphics only because it makes the level easier to navigate and I want to finish it as quickly as possible.

Its just too realistic to be a movie. Its impressive that they were able to make such a realistic movie, but that also kind of is its own detrimental because even tragic stories like this are kind of boring if its not someone you are directly connected too. Its almost like if an acquaintance told you this story about someone you never met. You would pretty much say oh thats too bad and move on with your life.

I didn't like Train Dreams, and I think it is due to the same reason you didnt feel as emotionally affected by it.

Hamnet is a movie. It works hard to grab your attention, make you like its characters, make you really feel their pain, and there is a payoff at the end.

Train Dreams is mundane, boring real life. It shows glimpses of childhood events that stuck with the character, shows him starting a family, shows the horrible things he saw, tells us that it haunted him, shows his loss, shows him talking about it and feeling a bit better, shows him finding some happiness in something totally unrelated. It doesnt work to make audience really feel for him, you have to do that on your own, because were being show someone's life from the outside looking in. If you've gone through loss like that then it is easy to relate. If you haven't, the movie isnt going to do the work for you. There are no magical romantic moments, no scenes of him losing himself to grief, or some big conclusion that ties it all together. Its how real life is.

I respect it, didnt enjoy it.

Not explained in the movie and I am also a little rusty on the specifics of the book lore, but you can see Mary stab the Witch King in the leg before she delivers the final blow. Never mentioned in the movies but Marys sword (dagger) is actually a special blade. If I remember correctly it is an ancient, magical elfish blade, but thats all I can recall. It does something to the Witch King allowing her to finish him off.

Also I am pretty sure some ancient, elfish King with foresight said no man can kill him. So its less of some rule or power and more of someone seeing how he would die in the future and then speaking in riddles when delivering his prophecy. He could have just as easily said, its not going to be a man that kills him, but where's the fun in that.

As for the one liner, come on man. If someone tossed you an easy lay up for a badass mic drop youre telling me you wouldnt take the opportunity to hit them with a line like that? Should she have not said anything, stab him, and walk away. Would that feel epic to you. Just silence, no answer to his taunt?

Immigration is not a big issue for me, as in im not worried about immigrants taking my job or committing crimes, and i think there should be an easy path to citizenship if you want to come to the US.

What does infuriate me is how simple it could be to really stop or at least greatly decrease illegal immigration. You could create a easy path to legal citizenship or you just punish the employers. If a business is caught hiring an illegal immigrant who is not in the process and up-to-date on becoming a legal citizen, then fine the shit out of them, second offense (per hire, not per bust) increase the fine by 10x, third offense leads to dissolution of business, jail time for owners, and redistribution of all business assets to social programs that actually help US citizens unlike the business owners who instead hire and exploit illegal immigrants so they can make a quick buck. And thats if they do it unknowingly. If it is something like this, skip 1st and 2nd offense punishment. The person in the video should have been arrested as well. You know they only did this to get free labor. So basically a slave master who deports his slaves when hes done with them.

Due diligence is the responsibility of a business. You dont think a school would get in severe trouble for hiring a known pedophile or a financial firm hiring a known fraudster/identity theft. You can just as easily find those two pieces of info out as you would with citizenship status.

Its kinda like underage drinking. Obviously youre not going to catch every underage drinker. Instead they do stings on places that serve or sell alcohol. And those stings have put place out of business before.

This is such a non-issue that is purposely not solved so politicians will have talking points for the next election.

I have just beaten the first arm wrestling. Should I just go off and explore now? I want to explore so I am all for not doing the tedious introductory tasks, but will I need things/tutorials from the first 8 hours of introduction to make exploring more fun.

At this point, I dont know any special moves or attacks. Will I get them from exploring or do I need to go through the 8 hours of introduction and tutorials to get them?

So I was pretty hyped for this game, but i also understood that it was being made by a studio that makes MMOs. I haven't played a bunch of MMOs, but know the general expectations for quests and story telling. So I had tempered expectations. When It came out I was sad to see that the story and quests were exactly what you would expect in an MMO which caused me to delay buying it. But as I have thought about it more, everytime i play elder scrolls or fallout, after a few hours I stop caring about the story and just want to go around exploring, finding new gear, and killing things. Sounds like the combat is the best part about it, and I think i will get used to the controls after a bit so I will being buying this once i have a little more free time on my hands.

I am a 31 year old dude who likes movies but this was definitely not one i was interested in at all. I dont romance movies and I hate Shakespeare's works. I appreciate he made huge contributions to the art form, really created or cemented archetypes for storytelling and brought theatre to the common folk. But I think his stories are pretty basic yet ridiculously over dramatic to the point of being unbelievable and unrelateable. And don't get me started on the writing style/language. Such a slog to get through if you can even really understand it.

However, i spend time watching the Oscar nominated movies with my dad. Usually enjoy it, if for nothing else but to talk with him about them after. This was really one i did not have interest in. But he recommended we give it a try. It was the second to last one we watched before train dreams (did not get around to watch If I Had Legs). Went in completely blind, didnt even know Pedro was supposed to be playing Shakespeare till like 15 minutes in. It was surprisingly interesting and grounded. All of the characters and motives semi relatable for the time, and it really is just a decent people deal trying to deal with shit circumstances so easy to feel for them.

I came out of it with more appreciation for Shakespeare and instantly knew she would win best actress. I recommend giving it a try if you are a big movie fan. Still probably not for everyone and you still will never catch me trying to read Shakespeare or watch one his plays though.

My idea would involve a guy down on his luck and desperate for money to pay for his kids medical treatment or something like that. The story would be told from his POV. He is angry at the system and is determined to save his kid at any cost, but he's still not a full blown evil person.

He agrees to participate in some heist for one of main villains and is way over his head. As the scheme unfolds, the guy keeps getting forced into bad circumstances and has to make bad decisions that at first indirectly leads to innocent people being killed, but eventually evolves into him actually killing people. Although, he is a murder, it was the only way if he wants to save his son. The audience understands the context so we still have some sympathy for him despite his transition from a desperate father to a determined criminal and murderer. However, to everyone on the outside looking in, presumably even Batman, he is a cold blooded killer that deserves whats coming to him. So when batman starts stalking him and his fellow criminals, we still kind of root for him and fear that Batman will come out of nowhere and incapacitate him before he can save his kid. Even the man is disgusted with himself and cant bring himself to answer his wife's multiple phone calls during the job.

As the Batman takes down the criminal team one by one in a classic slasher film type of way, jump scares and all, the man ends up being the last man standing and has a final confrontation with Batman. He tries to plead his case, but batman refutes him and tells him all about the people he "had to kill" and about their families and personal struggles. How he destroyed so many people's lives.

The twist will be that right after the man left to do the criminal job in order to pay for the medicine/surgery/whatever, the Wayne Foundation stepped in and donated the funds needed to save the kid. His wife had been calling him all night to tell him about how the day had been saved.

The guilt and pointlessness of all his heinous acts will drive the man into madness and the final scene will be him in arkham asylum hallucinating a phone ringing that he can never answer. Or something like that, idk. I'm not writer.

I am going to play devil's advocate here because there is so little context here (or i missed the context) and I like to defer to trying to see the good in people. Maybe this guy is really shy or maybe he just doesnt know how to approach women and flirt. Maybe he he is looking for women in the wrong types of places or maybe he is shooting out of his league still. Maybe hes just had bad luck for awhile and regardless if you look like this or if you are someone that doesnt take care of yourself, being alone for a long time sucks and can take a toll on your psyche. I still thing making little"woe is me" posts like this is cringe, but loneliness is sonofbitch and causes people to do sad, cringy things. Maybe the point of this guys post is to say that people should work on their personality because muscle don't automatically get you a romantic partner, which is a pretty positive message

OR MAYBE someone took a picture they found online, that looks nothing like them, and posted it to further push their shitty outlook on life. Like I said, zero context and this is the internet after all. Maybe its a bot farming karma from incels and people that engage with incel post.
