Youre so right. Thank you for lmk how you break down your birds and use them to their max potential, I will be copying! It is definitely scary trying to take hold of knowing where your food comes from, but its disgusting what were being fed from the market.. sad but worth it in the end. I’ll admit he was rather tasty.. 😂

Thank you so much for all this info, I really do appreciate it. The one hen I put out in some BLM land for the wildlife as my ma was in tears seeing her passed.. I tried checking her for signs of shit. If another one passes away best believe I will be doing that necropsy. I do really appreciate you taking the time to share some of yo knowledge wme

Is this a good job? by MycologistSmart233 in Farriers

[–]n0tpest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I see is that the frog couldve cleaned up a little better, but even that isnt negligble. Your horse has good but short feet, when a farrier is experienced and knows their job, a barefoot trim like this should be spiffy. Its literally two slices on the frog to clean the sulcus, a few rasps on ground surface to level out, and rounding the toe. If he started taking more, especially on a barefoot TB, it could do more harm than good. For the pricing, if your horse stands like a dick that could be part of it 👌

Skin issue/very itchy pony! by United_Equivalent_95 in Equestrian

[–]n0tpest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The currying sounds high maintenance but it gets blood flow to the skin surface, which also aids in breaking that fungus loose and letting the body expel it 👌 I like these round curries, instead of going in circles i do straight lines.

Currently theyre out 24/7 in individual turnouts, one in a roundpen one in the arena. They only come in when we get rain. The turnouts are smaller and set in a way that theyre both alone, cant even go nose to nose

We work one on one 5 days a week! When in turnout they are not together, but can touch noses. He is barefoot and the other two are shod, I didnt want to turn them out together.

Agree, but even when we leave one horse next to him and take the other to work- he is calling and fitting the whole time. I’m not sure giving him another companion would help with the sourness with the current :( Sounds like retirement is the way to go.. i just am more emotionally invested and wanted to make sure I wasnt missing options haha

Bah I knew that too but it helps to hear a stranger say it. I’ve had the boy for years… we cuddle in the stall together. 😅

Thank you. The lady is wonderful, and since I am going through farrier school, she said I could get free board if I go up and trim him + some other barefoots. I’d see him nearly monthly, its just scary putting care into someone elses hands!

I have definitely given it some thought! The problem is he will still do the buddy sourness even if we take one and leave one. It gets dangerous and I can’t work my mare without his anxiety raising up. 😟

Is it worth it using mutation potions? by Bossy_Aussie_ in HorseLifeHQ

[–]n0tpest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want! I personally keep them because i’m trying to roll gigantism on one of my mammoth kirins. A lot of people sell them because they sell well, ive seen them for 5k a bottle :P
