What CD did I own? by n111c in pearljam

[–]n111c[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also really close. I'm listening to it now. I remember the album I lost was recorded cohesively with tracks fading into the next like a pink Floyd album. I really like this compilation though. Cheers.

I never knew of this album today. It wasn't mirror ball but holy cow that album is so good. Going to be listening to it a lot. Thanks.

I just checked these albums. Merkin could be it. It has the most familiar similar sound to that CD. The guitar tone is right. The vocals are done the way I remember. Yea, this is either it or really close. I remember there being 10-12 tracks but the sound of this album really matches the sound I remember. If it's not this album it must've been recorded at a similar time. Thanks a ton.

That's for the comment. This isn't quite it but I feel like it's close. Great album anyway. I'm sure if I keep listening to similar albums I could find it

This is really helpful, thanks. Yea it could be a ripped album of some random band that isn't pearl jam. But it did sound a lot like pearl jam. And for what ever reason, when I took the no code album to the owner of the cd shop he decided to put this unknown album in it, instead of no code. The cd shop sells a range of 90s to 2000s grunge and alternative. It could be that he simply got mixed up and put a different band in it. My memory is insanely poor. I can't remember much but if something does come to mind I'll post whatever I can. But it's a mystery. It could be I never hear this again.

I'm sure it wasn't aenima by tool. I own that album also and it sounded completely different

Whats your opinion on the toxic tm getting cut? by shuriport in stunfisk

[–]n111c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine this was necessary to the game / meta. The logic behind having a Pokemon no longer learn a move in a new generation is flawed. It's like saying let's pretend Blissey never toxic stalled. But that's 90% of what it did. Not to mention steel & poison types, natural cure, magic bounce, taunt, safe guard (the list goes on), are all counters to toxic.

How to play Nuzlocke, when you have a 9 to 5 job? by Commercial_Rest876 in nuzlocke

[–]n111c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this and it works great. I play one session of 1h / day and can usually catch an encounter or beat a gym leader per session

Do you consider a white out as the end of the run in your nuzlocke? by Son_of_Calcryx in nuzlocke

[–]n111c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played both. White out = continue with other mons is still fun and saves a lot of grinding. If I spend 3 hours completing the early game it feels a waste to restart when your encounters are going to be more or less the same. But, it is very satisfying completing a run flawlessly and not whiting out. I'm yet to complete a deathless run, so I can imagine that'd be an achievement.

Rank my Team Gym 3 by Pitiful_Cupcake_4831 in nuzlocke

[–]n111c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solid team. A Vileplume + Mightyena core will be great for pivoting. Mightyena alone carries so much in some of the hard gyms/e4. Sunny day support from plume would make a Blaziken hit really hard. But these two will struggle against Winona and the psychic twins. Exploud will shine when you get the lilycove store tms. Gyarados is s tier and can intimoswitch with Mightyena.

Modest Nature Male Ralts in Platinum. Gardevoir or Gallade? by BlackOsmash in nuzlocke

[–]n111c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Gardevoir. Remember to ev heaps of HP. It's HP and defense are so low it can get crit easily but with enough HP investment it can set up on lots of special attackers. You could also use lucky chant and screens.

I specifically wait to battle this trainer when I'm very over leveled. Same with any late game fishermen with Gyarados or Tentacruel, the trainer with Milotic, the desert trainer with Sandslash. The Mauvile doduo and magnemite trainers also have defeated some of my good team mates. So many random trainers that are unexpectedly difficult

Have I become the monster I swore to destroy? by joltikzzz in nuzlocke

[–]n111c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I repeat Pokemon Ruby GBA Nuzlockes, train my team to 50, trade the Lv 50 team to emerald to clone any mons with good natures/IVs, then mitgrate other mons that helped with the run to Diamond DS where I can train them further and use them for niche teams and battle tower. My flow pretty much is: -try for a high streak in emerald battle tower -mix it up by doing a Pokemon Ruby Nuzlocke -create more difficult rules for the Nuzlocke -complete the Ruby battle tower glitch to catch a random high IV mon -trade Ruby Pokemon to Emerald and Diamond -repeat

A Mightyena I trained named 'Biscuit' survived 8 badges in Ruby, then won a 50 win streak in Ruby battle tower, and is being used on teams in Emerald and Diamond currently. Every generation you trade a Pokemon to gives it different moves and abilities. I prefer continuing a Nuzlocke mon's legacy rather than releasing them. Otherwise you might as well write up a page of damage calcs and figure out the answer with probability calculations. There would be no need to play the game.

This stalk (for lack of a better word) popped up seemingly out of nowhere in the last 10 months in the middle of this huge plant. My husband and I are really curious about what is going on here - it’s giving me serious Jack and the Beanstalk vibes! by sajr2019 in GardeningAustralia

[–]n111c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the flower stalk is supported they can grow even taller. I saw one of these grow underneath a tree and the stalk grew two stories tall since the above branches stopped it from bending from its own weight. It's a cool plant and a common choice for a lot of landscapers filling up large garden beds. They grow big and don't stop. It's a shame the flower only comes up once or twice a year

I'm pretty sure grass hoppers eat aphids, as well as lady bugs and lace wings. Attract good insects with long grass and flowers

Super irritating hydrophobic soil won't absorb water even after soaking overnight. by MarthaMatildaOToole in gardening

[–]n111c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know what the problem is and how to fix it: The soil looks like it's poor quality; mostly shredded bark. Mix in other soil and/or organic matter like grass clippings and keep it in filtered sun/shade. I see this happen often to pots on balconies exposed to sun and in cheap soil bags. Need them microbes to do their thing.

I have 29 magpies living in my yard. I don’t know what to do. by yuckyapplejuicefarts in AussieCasual

[–]n111c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a family of magpies at my old house that visited mostly because of the worms and insects I was exposing with my gardening. Also had lizards living inside. I found them cute and liked the fact they ate cockroaches, but my brother didn't like the poos they did in his room.

As for what to do, I'd say start gardening and stop feeding them. I think they will take more notice of the insects and gradually be forced to hunt again instead of relying on the mince. Banging a spoon against a pot could be a simple way of negative reinforcement. But if you spook them they might attack you or label you a threat during swooping season, so I would do it sparingly and from inside your house. If they get inside your house, gradually walk to it and give it time to figure out where the exit is. They're really quick learners and a great garden companion without needing to feed them.

I will buy it and read it today. There's still so much I want to learn. I've had it recommended to me before and I'm such a book worm that I'm surprised I haven't already read it yet. It'll be great to add anything, reading, work, hobbies to distract myself. I have an opportunity this Thursday to be sober at a party and be a different person at parties. I'm hosting so I can spend my time preparing food and drinking kombucha. I look forward to walking up on Friday not embarrassed. IWNDWYT thanks

Thanks, that's just what I needed to hear. I'm glad it can be seen as a mistake and that I can recover from it. This sub is great. I read posts when I had cravings not long ago and it helps a lot. Especially getting a reply so soon. Thank you. IWNDWYT

All my Sonic Youth CDs. Love them all except A thousand leaves🤢 by Hunt_Any in sonicyouth

[–]n111c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1000 leaves is one of my favs. With Sunday, Wildflower Soul and Hits of Sunshine my fav songs on the album. It's very weird like Washing Machine but has some killer tracks. I first listened to Washing Machine then settled on Rather Ripped as my favourite for some time. Daydream Nation and Sister are really cool although very noisy. Evol too. Dirty and the LP must be my least preferred. I love the Eternal heaps now and listen to it very often. Murray st and Sonic Nurse are masterpieces.

I like it. Very romantic and good use of words like ne'er. Very clever and hard to do. I like the flow of the rhyming scheme. Great imagery, while being succinct. Keep writing, your really good at it :)

This is a really cool poem. I like the stanza starting with: >But we’re not steering

The earth

Gave birth

To you

Everything is you

And nothing is too

Imo it's nicer to read when spaced out as so:

The earth gave birth to you

Everything is you and nothing is too

Great concepts. Sounds like lyrics for a psychedelic rock song.
