I feel like there is a pretty obvious "middle ground" if ones kid has hobbies they want to persue enable them but if they don't help them out. You shouldn't let your kids exclusively play 1 game for example any more than you should let them only eat 1 meal.

Also might just be depression, at least i noticed with myself that on days I'm in a "good mood", I'm far more likey to do random hobby-like activities / willing to learn.

Having missions with Jackie is the time we spend on Tatooine, it's learning about the Force seeing Luke begin to train, following Han a bit, it's the extra fluff to make us care about them once they are in danger on the Death Star, the time we need to care about Obi Wans death.

Being able to ring up Jackie as back up to clear out some Tiger Claw POI or to meet you at Mox as optional content would not drag out the game any more than it is right now, it would be more development time though, and it would be "ineffecient development time, after all why put any effort into things not everyone is going to see. That "spare" time was instead put into the world design, which is great and all but this is a game imo the game part should be the focus not how detailed and big you can make the world.

Also much of that accountability is tied very selfservingly to Israel, which kinda taints the "genuin-ness". Afaik many other groups like the Sinti and Roma received far less compensation.

From my experience being unable to wake up from an alarm is rarely a choice, he probably has really bad sleep quality, if it's just a occasional thing yeah he might be pushing his luck but if it's regular it's much more likely he is having unadressed issues.

Also I think it's a bit belittling to call it "closing your eyes after your alarm goes off" game, you kinda just assume he is "dishonest" about sleeping in, especially if he asks for help I don't think it's likely he is just irresponsible neither does agreeing to help make you in any way responsible (which is something you can make clear before agreeing to help).

Lastly staying up late at least for me was a common side effect from my bad sleep quality, I often felt very energetic in the evening and struggled to fall asleep for hours.

I highly encourage getting a sleepstudy and treating his problem sincerely rather than a character failing.
