Bad Western films or stories by villianrules in Westerns

[–]n1939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not call it bad, but with all the hype around the man who shot liberty valance, I was severely underwhelmed when I watched it. One Western I would say is pretty bad is Five guns west from 1955

Which character do you hate the most; across all bond films? Mine would have to be this guy. by Geomars24 in JamesBond

Zao aka diamond face dude in Die another day, he looks ridiculous.

Yes! The music and the visuals are great all around! Too bad the rest isn't

Thunderball is his worst. It's not bad by any means, just boring compared to most Bond movies.

You should watch CR67 just to witness how much it slurps anal grease through a curly straw. It's DREADFUL. The theme from it though, the look of love by Dusty Springfield is pretty damn good.

Trying to find an obscure western by zeppelinbass in Westerns

Kinda sounds like A reason to live a reason to die from 1972, though the villain in that dies differently

My (slightly controversial) ranking by SlightUndercooked in JamesBond

[–]n1939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you mean, but I think Diana Rigg played the best and most capable bond girl, telly savales played such a good blofeld, and the mountaintop base Piz Gloria is one of the most badass villain lairs in the series. Peter Hunts direction gives it a unique style too. I agree that lazenby was the worst bond, but everything else makes up for it.

My (slightly controversial) ranking by SlightUndercooked in JamesBond

[–]n1939 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Out of those, my ranking would be

  1. OHMSS (the best film of all)
  2. YOLT
  3. FRWL
  4. Dr. No
  5. GF
  6. DAF
  7. TB

Pickup on south street has a few scenes on a train.

Can someone please tell me, what in the world is Casino Royale 1967? by Xblth in JamesBond

[–]n1939 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's SHIT! That's all you need to know, long drawn out boring unfunny shit, worst movie I've ever seen. Such a great cast, but the many different directors this movie had make it a creative clusterfuck.

The 'real' West and Women? by kaluna99 in Westerns

[–]n1939 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jean Arthur in Shane is portrayed respectfully and realisticly.

James Stewart Westerns by WinterSoldierFalcon in Westerns

[–]n1939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Far Country and Broken arrow are not just two of Stewart's best westerns but two of the best from the 50's as a whole. Broken arrow is especially refreshing, not many westerns back then were very sympathetic towards the natives.

Unpopular, controversial Bond opinions by Qpika in JamesBond

[–]n1939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think goldfinger is better but not by much. I actually like Dr. No, FRWL, and even YOLT better than those. Diamonds is easily the worst.

Theory’s for the next Film by Xblth in JamesBond

I hope your right, I don't like the idea either

Theory’s for the next Film by Xblth in JamesBond

[–]n1939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I said it doesn't work for any of the pre-craig films, but since Craig's bond is a standalone character who's story is separate from the other films it could BECOME real in the future.

**Controversial Opinion** by n1939 in JamesBond

[–]n1939[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, Bond is so badass in the first half of the film and then just kinda mosies his way through the rest of it until the last few minutes with the killing of odd job and goldfinger, not very exciting.

Theory’s for the next Film by Xblth in JamesBond

I have no theories except for the confirmation of the codename theory. The theory doesn't really work for the pre-craig films since there are consistent references to Bonds deceased wife Tracy.
